Picture on Twitter showing the sticker going on Theobalds Grove station sign as "Theobolds Grove". Whoops...

Oyster is available across the entire tube and Overground networks. Oyster availability for other TOCs ends at a certain point which can be confusing or unexpected for people not used to travelling on certain services.
Headingley Leeds bound platform could easily have a ramp installed. There's a strip of overgrown land between the platform and allotments that could accommodate it and the platform could do with another exit given the only one available is a steep and fairly narrow set of steps. The other...
I was on a train to Liverpool Lime St from Euston and was kicked out of my seat in coach E which has never happened before! I ended up going to coach F which I don't think there usually are on Liverpool services. Presumably it was a 9 car so less first class than usual?
Last time I claimed a delay online I'm pretty sure I was given the option to have the refund delivered straight to my Oyster (or did I receive a cheque in the post? Can't remember!). Whatever it was it was a brand new option to avoid getting a delay voucher.
Most people have Internet access...
One thing that I find particularly annoying with Thameslink (and FCC before it) is that it's rare to get annoucements on board older trains where there's no dot matrix. Couple that with some very sparse and dimly lit signs on the platform it can often be difficult to tell which station you've...
Oh dear. According to the Station Master App blog the new signage at the station says Willesden Green rather than Willesden Junction on the Bakerloo line and they've had to put big ugly stickers on top of them.
It'd be interesting to see how they'd mark that on the already crowded in-train tube maps given that the zones go in order along the bottom. Perhaps the Battersea branch would loop back into zone 1.
Noticed today that the list of destinations on at least two of the signs at Chancery Lane list "Shepherd's Bush Green". A quick search on Google and Wiki suggests it was never officially called this. Was it sometimes referred to this when Shepherd's Bush Market had the same name in order to...
Bakerloo: Queen's Park - Elephant & Castle
Central: White City to Stratford.
Circle: All of it.
District: Wimbledon/Richmond - Upton Park, Kensington Olympia to Edgware Road.
Hammersmith and City: Hammersmith to Upton Park.
Jubilee: Wembley Park - Stratford.
Metropolitan: All of it except...
I think the point is to stop people legging it through the station and potentially causing injury for a train they're likely to miss whereas when you were close to the barriers you at least had a chance. There's been a few times when I've arrived in Euston about three minutes before a train I...
There's still the odd platform sign up advertising peak only services to Barking. There's one in Baker St on the way to the eastbound platform from the Met line.
I'm home for Christmas and have found a tube map from 2007 from the first time (I think) I ever visited London. I now live there and it's interesting to compare what I'm so familiar with now to what was until fairly recently quite a different map.
Is there any particular reason why the North...
There have been proposals for a station in the Prenton area for many years and there is certainly space for one but the current service patten probably wouldn't see it get many passengers (a la Upton which is surrounded by a lot of low income residents but hardly anyone uses it). Changing at...
There's also Upton and Heswall which are in the PTE but of course are the anomaly because they're served by Arriva and surely have the lowest passenger numbers of any stations in the PTE. In fact the only thing that would point you towards it being in the Merseytravel area is the box sign they...
