One thing to note is it will be useless to use any railcards if you were buying a ticket between Chelmsford and Shenfield during the peak as both the single and return fares are below £13. The off-peak starts relatively early on this this section of the line at 0845, and super off peak at 1200...
Assuming it’s not a nominee PTAC (which is leisure only), you should definitely use it for TFL Rail and the tube section of your journeys as this will give you the greatest discount out of all the railcards.
If you are tapping in at Shenfield then you could link your 26-30 or veterans railcard...

The only time you can use the National Rail priv on TfL is if it has the + cross London symbol. Surely there has to be some reciprocal arrangement in place for that to be the case.

I know you get free travel across the TfL network if you work for the DLR, but do you also get the staff leisure card for national rail?
Thank you all. It seems like a grey area to me. Sometimes engineering work could mean all GTR trains are out of action with the Overground being the only TOC operating especially at weekends on that section, and this could happen vice versa. I suppose I'll just have to use common sense.
