    Strange CCST print layout

This format, first seen from around mid-July 2020 has only been seen from a handful of stations that have Scheidt & Bachmann machines. It is sporadic and has not been seen at all machines at a station. So far v06-00 has only been seen on tickets from PICO T/O and SST, Cubic TfL TVM’s and Evolvi.

Locations of Permit To Travel Machines?

This is a list of the start dates for all the areas that used PERTIS. The furthest north they went were in the West Yorkshire area although they were all removed after 3 years. 16-Nov-88 London/Tilbury/Southend 20-Jan-92 South London 16-Mar-92 Kent Coast 19-Oct-92 Great Eastern 19-Oct-92 West...

Locations of Permit To Travel Machines?

I assume the machines at those two stations are the Metric Aura, the same as that at Longcross. On the Redbridge ticket is the station shown as REDBRIDGE 5912 01 It's not that the ticket stock has been loaded incorrectly, it has been pre-printed at 90 degrees to what it should be. A similar...

Locations of Permit To Travel Machines?

If anyone finds a machine, working or not, could they note the machine serial number on the plate in the bottom left corner.

    Ticket machines inside gatelines

There's also one at the Jubilee Line gateline there, no idea why.

    Travelcard not opening gate

The gates let me exit the station with no problems, it's only on entry where the problem is, so it can't be not recognising Z1-6. I did contact Southeastern via their website. Was told that my comments would be passed to the station manager (name given) "and he would make sure the self-service...

    Travelcard not opening gate

I occasionally use a Super Off Peak Travelcard for zones 1-6 from Littlehampton to Bromley South via Victoria. On arrival at Bromley the ticket opens the gate. But on the return it doesn't and have to be let through by staff. The error code 126 is shown on the gate indicating: "TOC ticket Origin...

Locations of Permit To Travel Machines?

I compiled a list of over 900 PERTIS machines showing the serial number when most machines were in use. Adding those listed above shows that some machines moved around to replace faulty machines.

    TfL Fares Anomalies

Transport for London seem to have some fare anomalies on journeys from London Overground stations For example, a single from Finchley Road & Frognal to Putney via Kensington Olympia and Clapham Junction is £2.80 whereas a single to Clapham Junction is £5.50. Another is Haggerston to Hackney...

    Gatwick Airport Station

Yes I was there last week, the place was deserted. Bought a ticket from both machines but they don't show machine numbers so tickets from both are indistinguishable and no doubt all printing will fade within a couple of months.

    Gatwick Airport Station

    Thanks, that's encouraging.

    Gatwick Airport Station

Has anyone been through Gatwick Airport station within the last couple of weeks and noticed how busy the ticket hall is and whether there is still a single queuing system for the ticket machines? There are a couple of new self service ticket machines that I want to get tickets from and assume...

TfL ticket machines and offices going cashless

Probably think it's not worth converting since they want everyone to use Oyster or bank card.

TfL ticket machines and offices going cashless

Can't see that happening. They can't even afford to replace the inked ribbons in the machines, some machines issue tickets that are almost completely blank!

    Buses and the coronavirus

It's been reported that to minimise contact with the driver, passengers boarding buses on routes based at Walworth garage must use the centre door. Since the Oyster card reader is on the drivers ticket machine, how do they tap-in assuming the front of the bus will be out of bounds. It's a...

    Booking Office tickets (not TVM's)

Having said that, I now hear that South Western are replacing their Fujitsu Star machines with Worldline @station (TOMTIS - Ticket Office Mobile Ticket Issuing System) that issue tickets in the new format.
