Worst route(s) in UK for anti-social behaviour

My understanding was that this was caused by Bromley hooligans AT Ebbsfleet.

    Not renewing Annual Gold Card

I think it's worse than that and you can't even claim void days if you're not renewing. So if you don't renew an annual season ticket, you get diddly squat, even if services the previous year were abysmal

But the works west of Bournemouth are only for the 1st 2 weekends of the 6 that the promotion is running. Ah well that £60 in lost revenue for SWT as this is just the type of leisure journey I would do for £15 but not for £50.

South West Trains are no longer offering discounts on TopCash Back (must be the 3rd time they have left the scheme!) Best discount now appears to be First TransPennine Express, who also give Nectar Points too, so looks like they will be receiving the majority of my online custom for the time being.

    South West Trains disruption

There are major problems today due to mulitple track circuit failures between Winchester and Basingstoke. Apparently the problem manifest itself last night and is still to be resolved. I've avoided the chaos and gone to work in another office!

    TFL Travelcard and Capping Changes

I would have no problem with the principle of pushing everyone onto contactless and Oystercard, if there was a way I could activate my Oystercard it as I go sailing through Surbiton on the fast line.

    Thames Travel poor reliability?

Don't catch them regularly but my, limited, experience of this serivce is similar to yours I'm afraid, :-(

    Adult on Child Ticket

If you just ask for a ticket to X and the guard says that will be £3.50, and it's not a journey you do very often, then are you expected to check the ticket in detail to make sure it is actually what you asked for and if so how are you expected to know what all the codes stand for? Whilst...

Can one add an auto top up to Oyster without making a train or tube journey?

You can activate it on the DLR and Croydon Tramlink too, but otherwise no. You can’t activate auto top-up on a bus, but I think once you have it set up, then a journey on a bus which takes your balance below the trigger level will mean your Oystercard gets topped up automatically. Not...

    FGW suspended - alternative routes

Given it is reported that it was a Network Rail maintenance vehicle which struck the bridge, there is quite a strong argument that it is!

    London to Southampton

This would be the best bet, there is normally good availability on the xx39 service, which is the stopper to Poole, but if time is not a constraint then should have no problem finding a £1 ticket, when booking well in advance.

South West Trains are offering cashback on TopCasback again. 3% cashback on all booking, SWT priced tickets only. Good news for me as most of my travel is in SWT land. :-)

    Alton bus event(s) 19/20 July.

Yes it is two totally separate events. The Saturday Event is based around running bus services to local pubs, where there passengers are encouraged to catch services to local pubs, get off have a drink, catch the next service onto another pub etc and the services are scheduled that way. The...

What was the train that passed through Guildford at 7.45 [16/06]

It was the 0500 Poole to Waterloo. Terminated at Woking ran ECS to Farnborough where it picked up it's scheduled service as the 0739 Waterloo to Poole. Somewhat sureal joining a totally empty 10 car train at Farnborough, always has plenty of space, today I shared the whole carriage with one...

    Special Offers Discussion

Does anyone know if you have to purchase a single ticket to the value of £40, or whether you can make up the £40 by purchasing more than one ticket; in a single transaction? The T&Cs aren't really clear on this, referring at one point to 'the value of ticket' and later on to 'a £40 ticket...

Poor rail conditions in the south east today

Was at Winchester yesterday afternoon waiting the 17.33 Cross Country Service to Reading. Trains sails into the platform and goes straight through, stopping a good 50 yards out of the station. After 10 minutes or slow clearly got permission to 'reverse' back into the station. Rear carriage...

    Routeing Guide Usage Query

This is somewhat unusual since the routing points for Blackwater are Guildford and Wokingham and I don't wish to travel through either of them. That's what I thought but then how do you actually travel legally. However, for my situation I think FenMan has the answer below Thanks that...

    Routeing Guide Usage Query

Thanks for the feedback, the journey concerned is Blackwater to Winchester and the issues appears to have only arisen because of the removal of Farnborough as a routing point, meaning Wokingham and Guildford are now routeing points for Blackwater. However, the journey via Farnborugh remains the...

    Routeing Guide Usage Query

Am trying to use the routing guide and have got a bit stuck. How do you identify permitted routes if the fare for all routeing points to your destination is greater than the fare from your origin station? Cheers
