I don't think they could hire an EC set, they're used intensively, I think 12 sets out of 14 a day. If there were to be any hire-ins I'd expect it to be from EMT, as they're not used quite so intensively.

They do sound good, but I don't care what anyone says, the best Traction Motor scream of any EMU's is the Class 319! Absolute monsters. Followed by 317's and 321/322's, and the EE507 Traction Motor as fitted to the 411 Cep's, 421 Cig's and 423 Vep's. :D

One off the top of my head is an NXEA service from Southend in the morning, and returning in the evening which is formed of a 315 and is an extension of a Metro service, thus it covers most if not all stations between Liverpool Street and Shenfield. :)
