It was a 153 last time I passed through Queen St on Friday, so yes very hard to judge on its use.

It's really great that Arriva keep it in service, and I am glad it hasn't been scrapped and is still in use and stuff, but I can't see the point of it. Arriva clearly has the stock to make do without it, and it is about as non-standard as you can get yet still it runs, while entire 317 and 508 sub-fleets sit withdrawn. I really hope ATW keep it for a long long time, but from a business standpoint what's the point. I can only assume it is down to some emotion shown by Canton, which if so is brilliant. :D

Was a 153 today too I think (saw one departing Queen Street anyway, and afaik only the bay shuttle uses a 153 through Queen Street).

Learn something new everyday!
Saying that I didn't even know ATW had any 153's until I saw one doing the bay shuttle.

Tomorrow is Sunday and not diagrammed on a Sunday even if fit. Is Maitenence Day.
As has been stressed on the thread several times not to be relied upon at all now..

I know, which is why I said "wish me luck". ;)

You never know. Maybe, just maybe ...

Surprising she was looking a little battered when I saw her at Canton depot last week

Are you sure that wasn't the original styling? Anyway, at 50ish I wouldn't expect it to be in out-of-the-box pristine condition, no matter how hard the Canton enthusiasts try. It only runs because tender loving care is cheaper than an additional 153 lease.
