Resumption of hourly Cardiff to Paddington services

There's definitely at least one GTR 387 at Reading TCD (just seen it from my train, certainly adds a splash of colour to the depot!)

Anti-maskers given free roam to post

Life would be boring if I didn't have people to disagree with

Unable to get renew Priv loaded onto Oyster.

Last time I managed to get it done at Willesden junction ticket office straight away, I'll probably head there this time again

    GWR seat reservations

You may well be right, I'm not entirely sure if the system will book two seats next to each other that aren't from the same booking yet or not, maybe it is

    GWR seat reservations

I believe aisle seats are now reservable for dates after the 19th, not sure why it's not offering any window seats though

Golden Ticket Competition To Win A Years Free Travel

Although the chances are of course remote, it's free entry so you don't lose anything either way, certainly worth a punt. I won't however be entering as I have priv rate and would seem selfish to reduce others chances of winning when I don't really need it myself (although it would be nice:lol:)

Golden Ticket Competition To Win A Years Free Travel

(Not sure if there is already a thread on this, couldn't find one) The Rail Delivery Group is going to run a competition with the grand prizes being 12 all line passes (The purple ones issued to some staff) to the very lucky winners, there are also smaller prizes up for grabs at events in...

Trivia: Stations with the most long-distance railheadding (excluding Parkway stations)

Hanborough acts as a railhead for Woodstock and Witney, although depending on where you are going it may be worth tackling the traffic to get to Oxford itself

LNER compulsory reservations - what happens if you don’t have one?

I certainly wouldn't, but would people reserve seats on more than one train so they still have options, exacerbating the situation? Or am I being too cynical of my fellow passengers

Advance ticket changes free of charge

Worth pointing out to anyone that hasnt followed the link that this must be before 1800 the day before travel, otherwise the usual rules apply

How would you reform the Railcard system?

I'd personally just consolidate into one or two railcards, as the vast majority of people can get railcards. I'd have something like: - off peak railcard - off peak trains only, plusbus after 0930 £30 a year as current - anytime railcard - any trains, but charge more for it, something like £300...

    Avanti reservations unavailable

Nope, they just sold us the tickets we wanted (it wasn't very busy at all in the end)

    Feedback on excellent customer service

There are comments from customers on the wall at GWRs training rooms as well

    CrossCountry Summer Services

It can certainly be very busy, I can't speak for Plymouth towards Birmingham, but Manchester to the south coast could probably do with double voyagers all the time (however that would be less of an issue if the Newcastles were reintroduced)

    Avanti reservations unavailable

A slightly separate issue, but I was recently trying to buy tickets on a (Chiltern) TVM for my family. The TVM seems to use some sort of journey planner system rather than just being able to select the product you want (not necessarily a bad thing for those less familiar with the network)...

    Avanti West Coast: Standard Premium

You never know  1623406503 Edit: I just double checked with Avanti's twitter team and they seem to think this is not the case :'( (being able to upgrade that is, not upgrading for free:lol:)

    Avanti West Coast: Standard Premium

Excellent, I might be tempted then, but admittedly mainly because I'm not paying for the ticket itself

    Avanti West Coast: Standard Premium

Hopefully then, I wonder about the family and friends tickets?

    Avanti West Coast: Standard Premium

Would I be able to upgrade to standard premium when travelling on my first group toc boxes?

    GWR Walk-Ons

You should be fine, it just means you won't be able to get advance fares/ seat reservations, there is a fair bit of room allocated to walk up passengers I believe.
