Was suprised to see a 315 still out tonight at 10.10pm at Romford heading towards Shenfield .... I thought they were retired now! Sorry for the poor picture, my train arrived to block the view!
I cant see any line closing, the protests would be large from the affected areas! Maybe terminate the Met at Rickmansworth and longer chiltern trains, terminate piccadilly at Rayners Lane, h&c at whitechapel. Richmond branch of the district could maybe go. Hainault to woodford back to rush hours...
Is that something to do with the bend in the platform rather than the length ? As a former Ricky resident it is annoying that some trains stop at Chorleywood which is a much smaller place and not Ricky!
Hi, I have been told they don't do seat reservations on London - Norwich trains any more, can anyone confirm that ? Presumably this came in with the new stock ?
The quickest trains from Edinburgh - London on those weekends are the avanti ones to Euston. Can change at Crewe for a journey time of just over 5 hours.
Looking at the map I guess a lot of people on the south side of Harlow do drive to Epping as they are a long way from Harlow Town. Its not a completely stupid idea to extend the central line to South Harlow, the hospital and Harlow Town. Can't see it happening in the current financial climate!
Looked at the map, indeed the Ebbw Vale line almost gets to Newport before heading to Cardiff. I guess there should be a Newport train as well (the track seems to be there) for better connections to the rest of the country without doubling back.
With public finances as they are, I would take London - Crewe in 60 minutes, existing tracks to make Manchester / Liverpool in 90 for now. See how the economy and travel recovers in a few years.
