Regarding the Oyster extensions Dartford makes a lot more sense than Sevenoaks as Dartford, despite being in Kent is basically part of London these days anyway, also with the future development of the Thames Gateway region...
Couple times been on the wrong half of splitting trains once at Ashford and ended up in Canterbury West and once at Barnham and went back to Chichester which is where I had came from in the first place
Yeah youre right as that is definitely an Arriva livery so based on a little bit of digging they have at least one diagram that runs into Manchester Piccadilly using that stock so that's my guess

There seems to be a chain of Platform 5s near stations or on stations

Went up last year and out and back were sprinters though we did pass the LHCS coming back the other way

Yeah I went a bit bonkers blaking anything that might be identifiable as there were even East Kent coach trip boards visible (a very much missed part of the business IMo)
In the case of Pwhelli and Filey they even had their own stations to specifically serve the Butlins site
