    I seem to remember a weekly New Brighton - West Kirby (or vv?) electric working until the 70s or 80s presumably because the curve had not been officially closed after the Wrexham trains had been diverted to Birkenhead North.

    I think Swinton Jct was on the Midland (or possibly the Swinto & Knottingley). Mexborough No1 was very close to the entrance to Mexborough MPD. 1729257257 Thank you, that makes sense for the passenger side.

    Just a tad obscure but does anyone know: 1. When the curve was last used by a passenger, 2. By goods, and, 3. When it was lifted. I have a picture in my mind of the curve being still there about 1986 but disconnected at No1. Strange how these details can bug you!
