Greater Anglia or C2C mainline driver?

With c2c you also have to start as a shunt driver same as GA. There are a few mainline drivers courses planned soon so most of the shunters will get the chance to go up driving. The requirement at the moment is to have 1 year shunt driver experience before progression to the drivers course but...

    Becoming an Driver Instructor

Does anyone know how long you have to be a qualified main line drive for before you can become an instructor? My company keeps saying to me it’s 4 years which they say comes from the ORR but others who were on my same driver course and have since moved company have been made instructors. I have...

    c2c Trainee Shunt Drivers

They are definitely not fully established for mainline drivers. Advertising for fully qualified drivers on their website. Relying on overtime to cover a lot of jobs lately. Also when they introduce the 4 day working week they will need around 30 part time drivers, 15 have applied from within...

    C2C Depot Drivers

When I first applied I only had to have a medical and driver manager interview left to do then I was told that they had stopped recruiting and my details would be kept on record. 22 months later I received a email asking if I was still interested in the job to let them know as they would be...

    C2C Depot Drivers

You have to negotiate the overtime with the depot manager you can normally get if a job is 7hrs long u can ask for 12 hrs pay. And depending on how desperate they are to cover the job will be how much they offer. Bank holidays are a 1 off payment think it was around £150 or a day in lieu and...

    C2C Depot Drivers

No there is no extra for London allowance in the pay. Or for nights / Sundays. The Shunter drivers based at Shoeburyness get paid the same money as the ones based at East Ham depot. The only extra pay you would get was if you work overtime or bank holidays.

    C2C Depot Drivers

If the current pay deal that is on offer gets voted in I believe the shunt drivers should be on around 30,000 from April. With minimum 3% rise each year for the next 3 years after that

    C2C Depot Drivers

Sundays and nights are inside the working week so there is no extra for doing them. You can ask not to work a bank holiday but it goes on a count of how many u have done. When u start u get an average count number so u don’t start on 0. If u work the bank holiday u get the choice of a day in...

Hi is anyone one here a Mainline driver at Southend Victoria depot? I am looking at applying for the qualified driver job that is advertised and was wondering if anyone could send me a copy of the roster and tell me typical type of work is involved eg which routes you sign. Thank you.
