This is a nice little video of a box on a line that must have more examples of British signals than any other I can think off. York to Leeds via Harrogate

The Derwent Valley Light Railway in York has been featured in a Christmas
video for The People's Soprano Rebecca Newman. It's a lovely little operation just outside York and the Staff and Volunteers were so helpful during two nights filming back in early November...

Been reading all this with interest , so seeing as I was catching a train at Selby today i thought id catch a few clips of the diversions.
Hope you enjoy it. It's only iphone footage

Funny that .:D
It was actually quite strange. I thought you'd enjoy having a look at a wider problem that affected the railway. Was anyone on the station when the lights went out cos when i looked from my window at one point it apeared to be in pitch darkness for a moment.
I thought they had an independent power source BUT the signalling centre which is in York and controls Leeds too is subject to blips and problems that need a PC reset or something like that . Over to an expert now ,
Well since that was made i discover that it was signalling issues. Which is kinda safety reasons. The video is shot for a wider audience more interested in the actual city centre power cut. Its uploaded for your interest.
How strange that this thread should be the first thing i see today because that's exactly what I was thinking about the run from Darlington to York yesterday.
Felt very rough in places , especially Thirsk and Tollerton

.
