That's great, thanks!
I don't think it would have occurred to me that using Oyster across London might be cheaper than a through ticket. How odd.
We have one each, so no problem.
Thanks

Hi all,
I wonder if anyone could help me with finding the best tickets for a journey later this month please?
It's a little complicated, but the essence is that 2 of us would like to get tickets that allow:
* Fri 28 Oct: Oxford to Whittlesea, leaving Oxford at 16:30 (or perhaps a little...
I've just been looking more closely at some of the options, and I'm confused. If I search for single tickets "London (All stations) to St Neots [SNO]" (for example, leaving tomorrow at 1pm) then nationalrail.co.uk gives me these options:
* £20.00 Anytime
* £21.00 Off-Peak
* £24.50 Anytime...
Oh, bother, you're right, thanks. I was previously planning to go to Cambridge rather than St Neots, so Liverpool Street was fine, but now it's not.
Presumably I'd need a ticket "With travel card Z 1-2" if I want to go to one station on the way there, and from another on the way back?

Hi all,
I'd like to do:
Thursday: Oxford (OXF) to St Neots (SNO), probably leaving around midday.
Tuesday (12 days later): Harwich International (HPQ) to Oxford, leaving 12-2pm.
I have a network railcard. I'd like to go by train, not the X5 bus. I don't want to be tied to particular...
Ah, thanks, but I forgot to mention something: I have a Network railcard. It looks like March is just outside the SE area, so that would presumably actually be about £20 more.
Thanks
Ian
Hi all,
If I want to do something like:
Thursday evening: Didcot Parkway - St Neots
Sunday morning: Cambridge - Reading
Sunday evening: Reading - Oxford
(and I don't know exactly what time trains I want to take), am I right in thinking that I am best off with an "Oxford - Cambridge...
Hi all,
I am planning a leisure trip in Europe, based around a visit to a steam tram museum in the Netherlands, and am trying to include as much other interesting transport as is sensible along the way. My rough plan so far is:
Ferry: Harwich -- Hoek van Holland
Trains around the...
Hi all,
If I search for Llandudno [LLD] to Oxford [OXF] on nationalrail.co.uk on the 5th June leaving 15:00, then I get these options:
15:11 Llandudno [LLD] Oxford [OXF] 20:14
18:05 Llandudno [LLD] Oxford [OXF] 22:08
18:55 Llandudno [LLD] Oxford [OXF] 06:25...
Hi all,
I have been wondering what the things in the attached images are for. They're on the wall from the track up to the platform. I think these were at Reading station, but many (all?) stations between Reading and Brighton had them. They have a few numbers and letters on, and what appears...
