Possibly inspired by the Easyjet 18.50 booking fee, I found out that staff at Belgian stations quietly charge a 7.00 or 3.50 booking fee for selling tickets to neighbouring countries.
This seems unfair as not everyone has a laptop and printer in their bag to be able to visit sncb.be...
Thank you for the answers. The journey went fine the weekend just gone, with my break point as Southampton Airport Parkway so as to avoid suspicious barrier staff at Southampton Central.
The CrossCountry guard checked the ticket on the Saturday without comment. However I suspect he didn't...
Thank you. I'm nervous of having to explain myself at the Southampton and Bournemouth barriers on Saturday so am thinking I might just buy London to Southampton Off Peak Return.
However for the Southampton to Bournemouth journey, there is no Off Peak Return - does anyone know of a ticket that...
So you could in theory accompany someone all the way from Waterloo to Gatwick (without leaving the station) and then back to Victoria, for a zone 1 fare?!! Seems that you have 110 minutes to do it as well, on a Sunday.
Wow. Would the RPI / guard not be able to see where and at what time you had...
I'd like to travel as follows:
- from London to Southampton on Friday (evening peak)
- from Southampton to Bournemouth on Sat
- from Bournemouth to London on Sun
I'd like to use the Off Peak Return at £37.90 with Network Railcard.
Am I likely to experience difficulties on the Saturday...
Thank you for explaining. The separate printer / ticket stocks seems a likely explanation! Is it too late now to go back there (it happened last week) or shall I just write to their Customer Services?
That particular machine was card-only. While she may not have been senior enough to open the machine, I would expect her to have made a call to the correct person and asked them to come out to the machine.
What can a clerk in the ticket office do other than call up the booking and tell me...
Thanks for your clarifying about the ticket number. I guess an Anytime Return bought online is a type of walk-on return.
I immediately put my hand in the slot and felt around, but there was nothing. I then went to the member of staff standing nearby and asked for help, she had a quick look at...
Hi,
I booked an Anytime Return online, without reservations, and tried to collect from a TVM. It only issued the Collection Receipt and the outward portion. I put my hand in to feel around for the return portion.
The staff at the station either didn't have the keys or didn't want to get...
Thank you.
I had not thought of the DaySave, or using part of the London - Southampton ticket from Reading.
Travelling Friday and Monday so hopefully not too many disruptions.
Over the Easter weekend I would like to travel on a walk-up ticket from
London to Southampton
(going from Southampton to Bristol by car)
Bristol to London
Is this possible on an Off Peak Return to somewhere? Have Network Railcard.
If not, for London to Southampton is there still...
Super Off Peak Singles for £12.50 from Euston to Birmingham until Sunday.
I believe I have seen this offer on posters and on the Virgin website, however the ticket office had not heard of it and couldn't offer the fare. Does anyone know anything about it?! Thanks
I think the frequency of trains has reduced by half because of the strike, would you expect this to mean only people with reservations are allowed to board the train at Cardiff in the afternoon / evening?
If not is it likely to be standing room only and will they be doing a first class...
I would like to use the "any Dutch station" ticket and continue to Cologne with the minimum of waiting around stations, on this route:
I think the Heerlen to Aachen train is DB - if so is my Dutch Flyer ticket valid as far as Eygelshoven Markt?
Any ideas on how will I buy a ticket for the...
Thank you for all your answers. I will bear this in mind for next time as I would have been financially better off travelling by train and accepting the delay than taking NatEx, because:
(Off Peak Return - 50% Delay Repay refund) comes to an amount less than half that of (NatEx single + train...
Hi,
I bought an Off Peak Return with an e-voucher. On the day of the outward journey, there was severe disruption, my intended train was cancelled so I travelled by NatEx coach instead. The coach was relatively quick and I was less than an hour late upon arrival.
- Do I claim under Delay Repay...
