After my recent disappointment of failure at DMI stage with Freightliner I've jumped straight back on the horse with this vacancy and the ones at both Birmingham depots. I'm based in a location almost equidistant between the 2 locations.
It is a separate vacancy and application for the...
I averaged out the wage drop for the 2 pay scales at 11 and 38 weeks and it is still around a 950 average drop over those months. Once in the depot at 38 weeks its all gravy though, but yes, need to know I am successful first.
Talking through stuff with my wife whilst awaiting news on DMI, I'm sincerely stressed that if I get the nod I may have to turn it down on financial grounds
The first 3 months will represent a £1,200 a month pre-deductions drop from my current job based on the current years earnings. I'm the...
Congratulations to everyone receiving contracts a great start to 2019 especially if you've been waiting a while. It's the waiting that does it for you, but well worth it in the end.
That would suggest that even if I am successful I'd be in the next next one after you perhaps, don't mind waiting too long, but I'm eager to try the sandwiches
So that's the DMI out of the way. Good luck to those of you getting it on the sane day as stage 2 and MMI. I'm glad it's over, felt pretty good and they said I sold myself well, but I'll have to wait and see how well I did some time in the future.
I apllied for Birmingham only as the only...
It's great seeing so much good news, I've been trying to get up the front for what seems like an age, even with my current company Chiltern I have been on a waiting list and then the list was cancelled, only for them to have different vacancies within the role of driving (that I also went for)...
Intermodal and Heavy Haul, the 2 sides of the Freightliner business.
I'm only close enough to Lawley Street which I listed on my application, so that is Intermodal only anyway. I guess all this time waiting I am just stressing and overthinking things a little.
I am used to shifts and the...
It's quite stressful reading about these holding pools at various locations, especially when so many people are that far down the line (pun intended). I've just started reading up on current Freightliner news such as the Mendip work and checking the information about depots, ports etc is...
Well, if people are going into a pool since October then interviewees for January if successful may be getting rather crinkly fingers after spending more time in the pool than they'd like to :-)
As a GPR I'm revenue trained but carrying out duties as a despatcher today then it isn't a requirement of the role, so catch 22 there. The last thing I was going to do was cause delay and a debate over it, because sadly the TMs mind was made up and no amount of thumbing through codes would have...
Thanks for the responses, it's always a difficult position to be in when you get caught between the customer and another member of staff. Ultimately its made the lady a bit displeased with XC (or worse, my employer, if she thinks I was in the wrong) and it costs XC their share of the fare to BHI...
Seeing the last part from the notes would suggest it is valid by it qualifying as an intermediate station for a break of journey - it would be a bit daft to say it would be fine to do it if she got off and waited a day, and then could travel after 09:30 from BHI just because it was an overnight...
I was trying to help a customer who was travelling from Leamington Spa to Manchester, she got dropped off early and had the return portion of an Off-Peak ticket (no travel on services before 09:30) and wanted the 09:14 direct XC.
I advised her to purchase an SDS Leamington Spa to Birmingham...
Utterly pointless, I'm aware local so-called journalists propose this type of view, but the idea that a newly open station after 53 years of closure needs a direct train to London is ludicrous tbh - particularly when it is a 10 minute trip to two London mainlines. The people of Kenilworth would...
I have checked my emails this afternoon I've received similar. Having passed what was missing from Stage 1 on the 30th August I now have to wait until 15th January at Basford Hall for the interview. Nothing I can achieve by moaning about it however - Lawley St is the only location I applied for.
I've just received an email back from the OPC telling me I need to wait up to another two weeks just for the contact from Freightliner, perhaps I'm at the front of the queue for the class of 2020?
"Thanks for your email and apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I’ve spoken to...
But out of the many hundreds of visitors to the event, how many will be doing so and why would you particularly care? Unless something actively stops your enjoyment then it's a waste of blood pressure surely.
