Same problem but from Chester. I didn’t use my SP free return last year and let it lapse - sure I could use it from Crewe, but by the time I’ve inconvenienced the people I’m travelling with - both time and the extra cost- and paid the daft amount from Chester to Crewe it’s not worth it.

Was highlighting ways in which such fraud could be identified to prevent it because for some lying about the service they were on to make a claim may be something considered to be undetectable. Am well aware it could be considered fraudulent and found the tone of your response unnecessary.

If you travelled on a flexible ticket does getting your e-ticket scanned "place" you on a specific service? Does the system record that? Similarly paper tickets going through ticket barriers.....does that record the time you were there? Either would prevent someone claiming they were...
