I received the same email. I think it is bad formulation on their part, and what they actually meant is that we will get a free trip after "upgrading" to the next level of Club Avanti. If there is a free trip, I can't figure out how to use it.
I got an email saying I had an unused free trip after I'd taken the outbound journey booked using that code.
So does that mean that we can book single journeys in separate transactions? Useful if that is the case.
I don't think so; at the least, I haven't tried to. I checked and the code didn't work.

Can I book Club Avanti reward journeys for a single journey only, or does it have to be a return?
The journey I want to make, London to Glasgow, out 26th April, return 3rd May appears to be impacted by engineering works between Glasgow and Carlisle for the return journey. Therefore, I would rather return to London via the ECML rather than spend a long time on a replacement bus.

You could always book a return leg on a non engineering day and just not use it?
I know you can’t book a lower class of travel. Living in Chester we don’t have standard premium on the Everos so I tried to use the code for a standard ticket and couldn’t.
You can book two one-way journeys using a return eVoucher code. I have only done that when in the same transaction though. I have never tried used the code just for a single, then trying to use the remaining balance for another single journey on a later transaction.

I travelled on a 7 coach Evero from Crewe which had coach H as Standard Premium and coach J as First. So if you’re travelling from North Wales, you can still use the comp Premium ticket from Crewe onwards.
The TM advised there are only around 15 reservable seats in J so First capacity has been reduced on the 7 coach Evero services. Possibly explains why I wasn’t offered a full English breakfast.

The first-class seats on the Everos are the worst of the Avanti fleet in my view. The standard class seats are more comfortable on these trains because of the headrest wings.
I have used the toilet on an Evero between first and standard class several times, and I have yet to find one with functioning water. You get a dribble then have to wait two minutes before it resets and gives you a further dribble. The toilet paper dispenser has been positioned far too low down and is designed so that it results in paper shredded all over the floor, just like in Virgin days before the quality of the paper was improved.

It launched in 2022. Those who joined at launch will be starting their 4th membership year later this year.
While it launched in 2022, I didn’t actually join until 2023. I still don’t really see why the year of the scheme matters?

Whilst you can do this the inconvenience of changing trains when there are direct ones every hour from Chester (where I live) coupled with the proportionally high Crewe to Chester fare make this unattractive.
Add in travelling with anyone else - who won’t be on a freebie ticket so you are adding pain into their journey - and it’s not worth it.
They need to let the Club Avanti SP ticket be used in standard from Chester and North Wales.
Club Avanti has at long last gone online. Login to your Avanti account, choose my account and from the drop down menu choose Club Avanti. It shows journey history, the number of journeys needed to reach the next rewards level and any earned rewards, together with their expiry date. A definite improvement to the scheme.

Now if we could just staff the EUS / WRX services? Two cancelled on Friday evening, with the driver of the 18.00 having to make the apology twenty minutes after the scheduled departure time. And that was after a delayed ten minute rush or scramble to board.

I have a free Standard Premium journey, I was considering a Euston - Holyhead return to try out the new Everos, but I've just realised these don't contain a Standard Premium coach... what is the situation with using the free SP journey on Evero services?

It most likely won't let you book as you'll need to to select SP and as there is no Standard Premium option for those 805s it won't let you book. It'll be first or standard class.

Same problem but from Chester. I didn’t use my SP free return last year and let it lapse - sure I could use it from Crewe, but by the time I’ve inconvenienced the people I’m travelling with - both time and the extra cost- and paid the daft amount from Chester to Crewe it’s not worth it.
That's a shame, I'll probably look to do a return to Edinburgh then, to make the most of it!

The 807s do have Standard Premium, so you could try and book onto one of those if you want to try it out.
Though better value than a journey to Edinburgh is unlikely!
