    Bridge Strikes

Well said, but for the record (and no offence meant) you may as well have just gone and said it to a brick wall, this lot will always think they know better, they drive cars, they think they drive perfectly, and think they know the ins and outs of driving a truck.

    No, I really don't think I do!

    Bridge Strikes

Word it how you like, I drove past a sign that I knew to be wrong, I drove my truck under a bridge that it fitted under.

You obviously don't drive a truck! --- old post above --- --- new post below --- Well said Sir! --- old post above --- --- new post below --- lol, indeed, I certainly wouldn't be. And this sort of retarded suggestion is just what I expect from a rail forum. Try fining me several...

    Class 442 - HST sets

Can/could the 442 driving coaches be used on Chiltern loco hauled services replacing the DVTs currently used, it would increase capacity with out increasing the number of vehicles in a train which I believe I read somewhere was an issue with increasing train lengths for that operator?

    HST's on 3rd rail lines.

Well surely if you got a spare set your going to have a spare crew standing by with it..... is that not the whole point, it only needs a driver and a guard and a route conducter, without them there is no point in having the train there at all.

    HST's on 3rd rail lines.

I'd really like to know why the return working (12:59 departure) was cancelled when there was a spare HST set stabled at Clapham Jnc, surely that is the whole bloody point of having it there??????????????????

Just 16, at school, is she a child?

Let the matter go to court, when they issue a court date get her head teacher to issue a letter telling the court she can't attend on that date due to important school exams. When she does go to court get her to go in her school uniform and if she needs a couple of character witnesses I...

Didcot, Newbury and Southampton Railway Revival

Did'nt the D,N & S have quite a few steep gradiants? I seem to recall being told that back in its day drivers had to be very carefull with braking freight trains to avoid snatching and snapping couplings. Theres also something in the back of my mind saying the Mid-Hants Rlys Std 76017...

    Incident West of Hungerford?

Well said sir! I also believe the truck in question was later left to go on his way, so presumably had a good explanation for what happened.

    Incident West of Hungerford?

I recall many instances of having my day effed up due to late running Freightliners.

The car that visited every station...

Yes that was my thought.... just buy a newer Corsa! (even though they are underpowered and c**p...... like 99% of European/jap cars)

    Model loco repaints.

Does anybody know of any companies that do really good top quality model locomotive detailing and repaints? Ive looked up TMC but they appear to only do renumbering/namings. Im not to bothered about cost, it just has to be good quality? Thanks in advance.

    Model Railway Exhibitions

I think what you'll find is the cost of the entrance fee tends to be higher depending on the quality of the venue, as opposed to the quality of what is actually being displayed. For example if the show is in the town hall expect it to be pricey, if its in the local school or community centre...

D400 (50050) Fund Press Release of Sale of Loco to Boden Rail.

Its basically patch painted BR blue, little remains of its BR large logo livery, no large logos/numbers left, some of the grey roof remains, it has D400 under the drivers window on (off the top of my head) number 1 end and 50050 under the second mans window. It requires a full repaint.

Fatalty at Hilsea (16 January 2015)

Im not sure when you went there then, its my local station, its manned from the start of the day until I believe 2pm, certainly not derelict, in fact one of the lads who mans the station has put magazines and railway photos of various types of trains in the ticket hall at Portchester. I quite...

    Top (Northern) Gear

Slightly off topic but I seen Jeremy Clarksons TGV2 car/train heading eastbound on the M27 earlier today heading towards Portsmouth, the Jag was on one car/trailer combo and the caravan/carriage was on another. No idea where it was off to?

Train Drivers - has train driving affected your car driving?

Im willing to bet most train drivers DO carry on like most car drivers....... when driving their cars. Its actually quite concerning the number of you that are admitting to not concentrating on what you are actually doing (driving a car) but have your minds elsewhere (at work). Nice to see a...
