I work for a TOC in pricing (neither of those involved) and can confirm the intention is that if a split ticket is used and a customer misses a connection due to a delay on a previous service, they should be allowed on the next service of the same (or any other valid) operator. Time...
One unnamed TOC is clarifying their position on this in a company-wide update on many ticket policies in the next couple of weeks. This will make it clear that customers should never be penalised if they don't have time to buy a ticket due to a short connection. On the other hand, discretion...
That would be a fair point if all VTEC trains were full, but that only tends to be true for a very small proportion of services. Until that changes they’d like a piece of both. This is more about a limit to what they’re allowed to do as lead operator and doing what they can to stop the...
Look again at the TPE prices, what you state is not correct.
Take what you hear about VTEC suppressing demand with a pinch of salt. Do you seriously believe that?
185126 will be out with new vinyls on Sunday
185113 now on Ardwick for new Vinyls - should be out in about a week
185150 currently estimated out of York after refit on 14/8
If anyone emails our MD, his PA will read it and deal appropriately - that usually means speaking with someone senior in Customer Service to determine the course of action; they will then either (a) take on the case and contact the customer ASAP (b) brief the PA on what they believe should...
06:08 LDS-MCV was always a 155 until this July, it's now diagrammed to be a 150, but usually only manages it about 3 days per week - it's then usually replaced with a 142, or the occasional 158 (but always a 2 car!). Frequently leaves people behind at Rochdale but Northern still keep sending a 142.
There is a direct Lockerbie-Carstairs at 07:11 Mon-Fri. It calls at Carstairs to provide an earlier Edinburgh connection from the south.
Nothing in the other direction.
1. Is not true. Eg: you have a Glasgow to Manchester VT & connections ticket. You use VT from Glasgow to Preston. Your connection is then on Northern or TPE but you can't use it on TPE unless that's the train you have a reservation on. (Unless there's some kind of delay to your journey).
