Evening all, ok, I'm off work Friday and am looking to either to take some railway related photos, visit a depot of some description or take a train ride, funds are limited and I'm based in Wigan, any suggestions? :idea:

Morning All, could anybody tell me where the best location near Wigan is to photograph freight locomotives/trains :?:

Bury in the Northwest, there in the ELR station at Bolton St but that is now preserved and it does not have a metrolink station but that isn't the same as a heavy rail station is it.

well, would be willing to start as station staff if need be but ideally want to do something out on the track, I currently volunteer on the preserved ELR in Signal Engineering so ideally something in that field or P/Way.
