Idea only: 'Railpriority' at London Euston

Frankly, given the numbers of people involved, if it takes more than a sentence to explain, it's too complicated. Not that giving it thought is a bad thing. Personally, I'd favour two queues: passengers with seat reservations for this service, and everybody else.

Kenilworth station Opened 30th April 2018

Thanks, Smethwickian! I've adjusted my post to amend the misinformation. I'd second what you say about making the effort to support the staffed café and ticket sales desk. Will be great once all of the necessary information is in the database for destinations and concessions. As it is, I...

Kenilworth station Opened 30th April 2018

Not many posts today regarding this, so here's some updates and observations: The service is now running. My (northbound) VT Pendolino train manager announced the availability of the connection on arrival at Coventry. Tickets are sold from the café at Kenilworth - there is no ticket office as...

Kenilworth station Opened 30th April 2018

NRE now has fares and journeys. It's not, however, possible to book tickets yet using any site I've found. And, surprisingly, no Gold Card discount fares are shown.

Trivia: TOCs stopping at other terminus/major stations other their usual

GWR have served Waterloo and Paddington as diversionary routes to London in recent years. It’s needed relatively rarely. Originally for Marylebone this involved a reversal at Banbury, presumably no longer needed now that the route via Bicester Village is operational. Virgin West Coast avoided a...

Kenilworth station Opened 30th April 2018

The truth lies somewhere in between: the bridge, lift and access to Farmer Ward Road have been built. The original right-of-way bridge has been tidied up and given a lick of paint and new lighting. The second platform exists only as a limited area built to the correct level around the lift and...

    London - Copenhagen return

I've done all of the components of this journey a few times and there are some things I'd bear in mind. Firstly, I would absolutely not recommend attempting the entire journey in a single day. It's numerically possible, perhaps, but not realistic with even the slightest disruption and also not...

Buying rail tickets for small charity

Loco2.com also does any-card collection, no voucher trick required. https://help.loco2.com/article/330-collecting-uk-train-tickets They're fee-free as it stands, but worth noting that since they're not a TOC, this is not guaranteed to remain the case forever.
