A tangent I know but not all USB-C sockets are the same. I can't charge my cheapo android phone with a USB-C > USB-C cable, has to be a USB-A > USB-C cable that doesn't try to talk to the phone to work out the current.
Or nothing except a drink and nibbles with a bad host. Last time I did that journey northbound they didn't serve food until after Preston (no crew change).
What's also missed in this discussion is that the OP will have been sent one or two emails with the booking and ticket details. Ones I buy from Northern clearly state Outbound ... 1x {ticket type} Return ... If the ticket type is, for instance, an Off-Peak Day Return it says below "Any off-peak...
I don't disagree but would point out that getting through the barriers in the morning with an off peak ticket can be awkward because barriers/staff may not recognise them (though perfectly legal).
Really? As someone who used to work close to Victoria and catch the train from Piccadilly I would walk every time unless the weather was really foul. The trams are not so quick factoring in the waiting time and the crawl around Piccadilly Gardens and buses get snagged in traffic as you say. To...

True, for those in the know. But they are the retailer many passengers use when buying tickets so in that context a good example of how Delay Repay are working towards making claims simpler in the future.
There used to be but it was poorly used so consolidated into the current two routes. It is possible to change at Portland Street to get from Victoria to Oxford Rd (but probably quicker to walk!)

How is "I have a sick relative so didn't read the Penalty Fare warning notices" a compelling reason? If you do something wrong, albeit mistakenly, just face up to the fact there may be a penalty instead of looking for spurious loopholes.
