I went through Weymouth I think in the early 80s on a BR Manchester Rail Travel Club "day return" to St Helier. It included any train to London, the boat train to Weymouth and overnight ferry. Arrived in St Helier at 6am and left on the same day night sailing. Took 3 days there and back!

I got the Eurostar from Lille recently. Reservation was in Coach 18 at the end of the train. The TM advised us before boarding that the last row of seats (next to the door) was never reserved as they regularly need it for larger bags.
