Did Dr Beeching really do us wrong?

The original DMU livery of green with whiskers and side stripes , suited 101's and others very well. Plain BR blue with thick yellow ends was awful. As regards not being fast , you have to compare it to what was available at the time . Much as I like steam, a flea ridden mark1 with powered coal...

How much do trains cost to buy?

and a 'scrap' value of £20,000 ... Thats assuming there is a lot less of scrap value in todays construction compared to say a class 47. More than £20,000 is simply that there may be some residual use for either a preserved railway or Harry Needle etc, so a slightly higher price. I doubt if a...

    Road Accidents

A lot of road deaths are caused by those who have no licence, no insurance, and usually a car worth £50 at a scrap yard, hence no responsibilty for any harm or damage caused. Remove those , and or increase those penalties such that they in some way make a substantial payment out of any future...

Photography - Your Rights under Section 44

The only addition to this that I can think of is , A PCSO does not have the right to search you unless in the presence of a normal PC in uniform. I think there may also be a maximum time that a PCSO can detain you for pending the arrival of a normal Officer.

In similar circumstances , when I complained to his 'superiors' the following day, the Inspector simply said ' I demand it of my Officers' .
