Is this even a thing?
Normally I'd just use PAYG for the tube and just make sure I'd leave enough time to get to the mainline station. But in this case the timings are quite tight. There's a connection on NRE that works but I assume if I just did tube PAYG and the tube was late or cancelled I'd...
Maybe I should have considered this when buying the tickets, but I am travelling from Exeter to Bristol this coming Sunday and the tickets I have bought via the forums site are two advance singles on the same train - one from Exeter to Weston Super Mare and the other from Weston to Ashley Down...
This has been flagged by someone on reddit and I'm seeing the same thing - it doesn't seem like there are any advance fares available on the direct services right now regardless of what day or time you chose. Any ideas?

Edit - Two days later and this now seems to have been fixed after...
Not that I particularly want to give ideas to the DfT / ToCs so I'm not going to mention the ticket details, but why is it that good value tickets, especially rovers and the like, are made so hard to buy?
Not able to be bought online or via app, not able to be bought via TVM, some members of...
Just wondering, I can't be the only person who has noticed that National Express's and Megabus's attempt at profiteering during these strikes?
I understand they both use demand based pricing, so I fully expect fares to be higher than normal when people can't travel by train, but it feels way...
I regularly travel from Bristol Temple Meads to my parents just north of Cardiff for a weekend, travelling on the Friday and returning on the Sunday. The last time I did this trip at the end of April (and every time I have done this journey over the last few years) I was able to buy an Anytime...
Basically who is responsible in this scenario?
The specific example is that there are replacement buses between Cardiff and Pontypridd this weekend but there is a train service still in the journey planner (I've checked on NRE, Trainline, TfW and GWR).
Given the replacement buses in operation...
I am sure a fair few of you have seen the same pictures circulating online recently of the amount of littering taking place at our beaches and parks etc. I get that those places will be busy at the moment (hot weather, 3 months of lockdown and millions being paid to not be in work will lead to...
I am kind of surprised there isn't already a thread about this, but I am sure most people here would have seen about the tragic events. My heart goes out to everyone affected, people should not go out for peaceful prayer and end up dead.
I think what has hit me about this is the social media...
So I was delayed by over 100 minutes into Paddington on the weekend on a Swansea to London journey thanks to a broken down freight train just before Bridgend.
Now the fun is out of the way, I believe I am eligible for compensation from GWR, despite their less than helpful compensation terms, as...
Arriva Trains Wales had some disruption on the Cardiff Valley Lines over the bank holiday weekend due to Network Rail work in the area. This meant replacement buses running between Treherbert and Pontypridd. Nothing new, we've had this before so didn't think anything of it.
Except when catching...
So according to the NRE twitter account, there has been some defective track found between Exeter St Davids and Barnstaple which means a speed restriction has been put in place for almost the next week, thus delaying trains by upto 45 mins. Either that is one substantial speed restriction or it...
So the journey I had today has thrown up a couple of questions!
Travelling from my parents in Wales back home to Bath, had to take a replacement bus from Cardiff to Bristol Parkway. Didn't think much of it because with the electrification work going on, this has happened a few times over the...
I know it has probably been asked before but I wasn't able to find it with the search.
I have an off peak return with the outward portion dated for tomorrow - Friday 25th September. My plans have changed and I am now travelling out on Saturday 26th September. I want to be able to change my...
I'm planning on going to visit a friend in York at some point, so have just been wondering about how much it'll cost to get up there from Oldfield Park (or Bath Spa). Would be leaving on a Friday evening or Saturday morning and returning the Sunday evening or Monday daytime and I have a 16-25...
As it seems ATOC have removed the option I usually use for this journey I am now looking for alternative ways to save money.
Ideally this would be avoiding the use of advance fares and anything that would mean I have to change trains (apart from the required change at Bristol). I have a 16-25...
Looks like the online journey planners have removed this as a valid route. Can anyone else verify this? Still looks valid according to the Routing Guide but obviously the guide now says routes have to be shown on NRE to be valid.
Cheers,
Marc
Just a quick question.
From what I can tell, there are two different Super Off Peak Return tickets for Bristol Parkway to Twickenham. One Any Permitted which is £38.95 and one Not Via London which is £35.65.
Would I be right in saying the Any Permitted ticket allows travel via Paddington...
I've got a question that has been prompted by some of the actions by TOC's today.
Quite a lot of them (including FGW) removed time based restrictions on tickets. So off peak tickets were being accepted during this mornings peak.
Now, if you turn up at a station and ask for a ticket during...
Just a quick one, I am not holding out much hope on it.
My girlfriend was delayed travelling from Bath to Manchester after visiting me last month (July 23rd). The delay was over XC's limit for delay repay (Which I believe is 30 minutes).
However, and this the big thing, she is only now...
