Maybe I should have considered this when buying the tickets, but I am travelling from Exeter to Bristol this coming Sunday and the tickets I have bought via the forums site are two advance singles on the same train - one from Exeter to Weston Super Mare and the other from Weston to Ashley Down (which is the part of Bristol I am specifically going to - and why I've bought tickets for this specific train rather than the faster XC services).
Basically I am aware GWR's Sunday services aren't exactly reliable at the moment so I want to be aware of what I should be allowed to do / should plan to do if the train I am booked on is cancelled.
Given the tickets are GWR advances I assume I am limited to using other GWR services in the event of cancelations (unless GWR basically give up and cancel all their services I could get leaving XC to deal with me as a stranded passenger).
Of course this is also complicated by the fact my split point (Weston) is off the mainline and not all services go that way. I guess this doesn't change the above? It looks like all possible GWR options would involve going via Weston anyway, and only if XC need to deal with me as a stranded passenger would the issue of not going via Weston arrise (at which point I'd assume the important point will be to get me to my destination rather than be nitpicky about split rules?).
Any thoughts? Thanks!
