We had to stop doing a 'proper' disposal on 319s as the batteries couldn't seem to hold the charge even after having auxiliaries tripped (they even tried turning off the LED tail light to saver the batteries but ti didn't help!). So now a disposal is pretty similar to an immobilise.
Interesting. Not seen this done here before. Presumably 50 minutes spent station the Up St Helier between Wimbledon Chase and Wimbledon looking at the link.
Oi - we were up to 60.9% punctuality last week. I doubt the 'Nunhead' issue will happen again anyway. :p
Makes sense. Has this change caused NR untold grief then or was the timetable in such early stages that its not been that much of an issue. Just a lower service schedule?
I'm still surprised loopers didn't want to double the frequency. At least they wouldn't have huge service gaps when we...
As said really, despite the doubling of frequencies, 'loopers' didn't want to have to change trains at Blackfriars and continue their journey a couple of minutes later on another train. MP's got involved and the rest is history...
As I understand it, this was the reason behind the...
The door issue at Nunhead should have been resolved now at least. it's not a unit or driver fault but seeing as 377/5 has said the details won't be made public I shan't be doing it either. Someone will have ended up with egg on their face though...
Spot on.
You get the bat and flag at the window at Orpington but on that platform (5) for a longer train the 'OFF DOWN' will aid the second despatcher further along the platform who may not be able to see the starting signal. The down starter is on a signal post next to the staff cabin so...
A very drunk chap one night was most dismayed to discover he'd got the last train to Preston. He wanted Prescot.
Charing Cross to London Charing Cross.
Sutton Common to Sutton Coldfield.
I felt guilty about this exact thing a couple of days ago.
The service I was driving as always 'terminated' at Sutton before continuing to Luton via Wimbledon. As I got the RA I heard a passenger say to the dispatcher " I want the West Sutton train but this one said it was terminating..."
Great job. Far better than my last one. I turn up drive me train and go home. end of.
There is a lot of moaning but i've recently come to the conclusion that the Aussies have got us right - we really are whinging poms! Well a lot of us anyway... It seems to be the same in every job i've...
Correct. There is no longer a nominee allowed with PTAC at my TOC.
Greatkingkat - thank you do the info. How does this work by getting the priv added to an Oyster card for a NR journey like SJS - LST (what am I asking for at the ticket office basically!)
As suspected I could use a...
Morning.
I've been wondering for a while whether there is a cheaper way for me cross London using my ATOC staff discount (or more specifically my wife as I have a TFL priv).
When I use St James Street station and head to destinations Liverpool Street/Stratford etc we always get a priv...
My 2p worth. When I was assessed one of my managers nearly threw a wobbly over me calling a repeater a distant signal but in training I was told they were the same thing (as Railsigns alludes to). Especially as on the Brighton route (which he didn't assess me on) we had distant "R" and outer...
I believe they've been decided relating to the disabled coach. The plan being that the wheelchair ramps are located on station walls right next to said coach. This way it doesn't matter if it's a FLU or a RLU, the disabled coach (including ramp and therefore staff) will all be together for a...
Nope. They have different stopping points compared to the 387/377/319. Look for the RLU boards and you'll notice they are not in the same place as the "8 car" ones. Southbound in the core they're different at Farringdon and City TL. Northbound they're different at Blackfriars, Farringdon and St...
