    West Coast Mk1s

But a completely unforced error when running mainline charters. You can argue until the cows come home about whether increased safety regimes are 'right', but that doesn't change the fact compliance is necessary to avoid losing market share and business.

Are LNR services authorised to skip Nuneaton if delayed?

Rugby is a crew change for those services. Surely the bigger issue is the 1tph, if it was a half hourly service it wouldn't be so bad. I wonder if a Crewe - Northampton that fills in the other half of the clock face between Rugby - Crewe has been considered? It's not uncommon for them to be...

    Class 730 LNR & WMR Delivery/test Updates

Normally quite busy morning & evening peaks and weekends, especially between Coventry and New Street.

    Disruption Timetable Alterations

A standard Avanti SSO when there's trouble on the west coast is to cancel 1 Manchester an hour but have the remaining one stop additionally at Nuneaton (as they alternate a Rugby and Nuneaton stop every half hour).

    Class 730 LNR & WMR Delivery/test Updates

New stop markers have gone up on the intermediate stations north of Northampton towards Brum. 8 UDS, and 6-12X added where applicable.

    GCR Bridge Project

Don't think a full figure has actually been quoted. As of a couple months ago current war chest is £2.5m but £250k has gone on the ground investigation. I'd imagine it's a case of they don't know until they can finalise a design for the viaduct (which will depend on the ground investigation).

    Great Central Railway Headway

The driver must be advised verbally if train is accepted under Reg 5 (as per the GCR rulebook). This can be done at the box brining the train to a stand by the use of hand signals, but also at the section via the SPT. Reg 5 will normally be avoided unless absolutely necessary though.

    Great Central Railway Headway

A simultaneous up departure from L'bro and up departure from Quorn is timetabled fairly regularly, so it's not uncommon for an up departure from L'bro to depart whilst the Up section (no.9) is on and the previous train is still in section (although some signalmen will try and avoid pulling off...

Young Children intimidated by the sound of steam locos

And the adults who frequent galas and other events to obsession are not neurodiverse? Like it or not obsession with the railway/trains is a fairly strong signifier of autism, and I'm willing to bet a significant amount of money that at least 50% of any gala patrons on any given event fall...

Altnabreac station and the various legal disputes around it

Icing on the cake if they do have an arrest warrant issued. I believe the saying goes 'Fool around find out'

    Marston Vale 150s condition

Wonder if CAF can do a railcar variant of the 196/7? (It'll be delivered late, and have a host of issues but that's not exactly a downgrade at the moment!)

    WCR & A1SLT Fall out

They'd need their own operating licence, which for one locomotive (even 2 in the future) likely wouldn't be a financially responsible decision.

High-speed train bound for London ‘hits van on level crossing’ in village as vehicle bursts into flames (July 13)

From streetview, there's multiple signs instructing the user to call the signaller.

High-speed train bound for London ‘hits van on level crossing’ in village as vehicle bursts into flames (July 13)

To the layperson a 'High speed train' refers to a train travelling at high speed, with 'high speed' being subjective. I'd suggest this is on the lighter end of journos getting railway things wrong

Great Central Railway News and Updates

There are some conflicting reports as to what 'advanced stage of restoration' actually means given there's apparently been issues with some of the parts used.
