    Possible future 158 cascade

Would please many people outside of the capitol, who have at least ten tube lines and ten main terminals... 158's are the nicer trains but the route suggested would be better for 156's, the S+C line is a good example for above, they are the nicer train for the longer journey...

    Possible future 158 cascade

That isn't a service anymore. Only Middlesborough - Hexham, or change at Newcastle and go with FSR. Anyway what's the point of having them there? It's only 75 max on the line, a waste for 90mph 158's...

    Possible future 158 cascade

Really?? Are you saying that the Parry People Movers on the Stourbirdge Branch are heavier than the 153 they replaced???

    Because Pacers can't defend themselves!

First Buses aren't so bad, they are quick to replace old buses on busy routes, the bus conditions are not so bad and they get the job done...

    Possible future 158 cascade

Better, quicker, more fuel efficient, more reliable, lighter trains. Nuff said. The EMT would influence the DafT to order them for their franchise.

    Possible future 158 cascade

but how likely is it that this is going to happen? this is a good plan, all would benefit but how dire is the situation that EMT is in?

Things you would like to do again (even if impossible)

spend a day at northallerton station in 1999/2000, with Virgin and GNER Valenta HST's, 56's and 60's still in full prime with EWS, no 185's or Voyagers or any other rubbish. Also maybe spend a day in York Station in the late 70's, when Deltic's are just passing away, with 37 45 46 47 55 HST...

    Reving trains.

The sound was amazing, the clag was immense and the vibrations in the cab were big and unexpected... Maybe, but this is the last Mirrlees engined Slug surviving, there are two Ruston Slugs in preservation... :-)

    Trains with no toilets

I do know that, i kind of live there, it's just a shame how such modern trains can be affected by the cold that bad. Itsnot drastic its just a bit annoying.

    Trains with no toilets

I know that, but the thing with Skipton - Leeds is that the toilets at Skipton are always locked which requires you to get the key from the office and return them, a bit of a pain. I'm not saying that it's the end of the world i', just saying that forty minutes is longer than you think for a...

    45112 and 46035

Ok, what is happening with both of these ex main line locos? 45112 was a regular mainline charter hauler with FM Rail and I believe it was sold to Cotswold(?) and is now in private hands at Barrow Hill. What is happening with her, any chance of her being brought back onto the mainline...

Sprinter vs Pacer...which would you choose?

Is this the easiest question ever? Personally 153 as they SUPERIOR in comparison with the 142, and that's saying something.
