They must be lengthening it today and tomorrow, in connection with the event at Wemberlee, which is why the unit comes off the siding and attaches today/tomorrow.
That doesn't normally happen - unit arrives at Snow Hill and the same formation goes back.
Presumably there either isn't sufficient...
Couldn't tell you if they're travelling beyond Wolvo or not, but always seems to be a lot getting on/off heading in that direction as well.
I assume another service (the Shrewsbury stopper?) will be picking up the stop heading in that direction at least?
The overheads somewhere between New Street and Kings Norton have been knackered again this evening. This seems to have happened quite a few times over the past year or thereabouts - maybe half a dozen times or so? - but I can't remember it being much of a thing going further back.
Can't say...
A break is not a break if you're still working.
Seeing as lorries and tachographs have been mentioned a few times - If you've driven 4 and a half hours and do 'other work' for 25 minutes followed by a 20 minute break, you can't set off driving again because "well actually, I've had a 45 minute...
At least it's being retimed to give a 15-minuye frequency rather than the 10/20 nonsense we seem to be stuck with on the Cross City for the long term.
It is interesting though that one of the earlier Snow Hill route recovery blogs said they'd be up to establishment by October so they could run...
They're shifting the Lichfield-Bromsgrove around because of the plan for the Camp Hill services apparently, despite not so much as a spade touching the ground for those stations yet.
Obviously they've kind of gotten away with dropping the X City to 4tph because of Covid but have long wondered...
Some of them have certainly been shut down and restarted a few minutes before they leave. 3 of the 4 I've seen over the past few days have, anyway. Was quite the surprise on Saturday evening when I saw it for the first time.
Whatever the 'speed restriction' was somehow caused everything on the south Cross City line to be cancelled for a time. Although on Real Time Trains they were reported as cancelled 'due to an error being made'.
I think the joining instructions came through about 3 weeks before the course started and we had a uniform ordering form sent through so everything was there for us (except all the stuff that wasn't in stock) on the first day. First 3 days of induction were done on Teams and then in person from...
Even with the reduced service levels at the moment, there's still a massive reliance on overtime (and jobs still ending up uncovered). I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Might be more to do with the request stops along the North Warwick line - best to make sure everything going that way is gangwayed to make it easier for passengers to find the guard (and vice versa), particularly The Lakes where only the first coach fits on the platform (so needs the guard at...
I've assumed, based on previous experience of work uniform, that the sizes will come up a bit bigger than expected.
(Also based on previous experience, I'm only expecting half of it to turn up and some of that to be the wrong size)
I'm hoping it's easy enough to swap for the correct size if...
Hi,
Any West Mids drivers based at Snow Hill on here who wouldn't mind me PMing them?
Starting in Feb and just got a few questions ahead of time
Thanks in advance
Have always wondered why/when Chiltern ended up operating this and the Moor Street - Leamington services. Did it come down to a question of stock availability when the Snow Hill lines went every 10 minutes?
