my personal theory on why they went 5 car instead of 9 or 10 car is because 5 car trains can also operate instead of 222s, 17 of the 27 EMR 222s are 5 car and the cars are roughly 23m, with end cars being 23.8m and middle cars being 22.8m, not an expert on EMR however so I don't know if the 222s...

Ok thanks. I'm assuming the 180s will probably just operate as 5 cars, considering there's only 4 of them, unless they use the same couplers as the 222s or 80x's.

Aren't they meant to be operating in 5 car formations? Because the normal 800s are 26m and I don't think 5 cars will be enough for services on the MML.

No idea if they fit through the tunnels, I'm just going off what I've been told, but in theory they can run as 10 car sets but would probably run as less. All the EMR sets are 2 cars but could be converted to run as 3 cars I think.

Yeah 171s and 170s show up as 158s on RTT. I have however heard a rumour from a moderator in a discord server that the 171s heading up to EMR are being swapped for EMR 158s. Personally I think it's possible, not necessarily likely or confirmed, but that's just what I've heard.

yeah the 717s look really odd without the yellow ends, they look a lot bulkier than the 700s. also in my opinion the 710s look sort of ugly, particularly in the new overground livery.

Thanks. Probably fairly likely that the 2 67s are in for painting, seeing as the mk4s are coming in soon, not as sure about 4 more 67s coming to TFW, guess we'll just have to wait.
