I'm in for Manchester, had an email through today from OPC saying they are still processing other applications for Avanti at other locations. No news is good news. It's not a "No Thanks" until they tell you.
I get the impression they're dealing with everyone differently depending on whether they...
CBI is still used by Avanti, it was one of the reasons I retracted my application with them, as I'd have to sit it and it would potentially put my other applications (that I'd done the MMI for) on the line.
Anyone have more details about whether this role differs to their OTM Operator role they have too, or is it a case of just driving the plant from A to B?
As above; just apply for the job. Everything you need you either already have in experience, can be found on here, or will be given to you before sitting the test. The companies will put you through the tests for free and you have the same chance of passing them.
I think if you're already a qualified guard, try to see it from a business perspective; why would they spend the time and money putting you through the trainee process again when you don't need it. They might be advertising for qualifieds at a later date and only want 'genuine' trainees to fill...

As above, I'd say more people fail the DMI; with the MMI you are only competing against yourself to meet a standard requirement, whereas with the DMI you are competing against the other applicants in terms of who the company want to take on which could vary massively.
There's no shortcut sadly. Just commit an hour or so on an evening and smash it out. For the long response questions, make a word doc and save your answers to it. You can always then refer to this when filling out future applications so you're not starting from scratch every time. That's what I...
Because of the nature of work DRS carry out you'll be asked to complete a national security background check. It's quite an in-depth form online you fill out about personal details, close family and sometimes about work colleagues.
DMI is just a standard manager's interview based on competency...
If you're referring to the MMI, it's 1 to 1 with the interviewer/assesor. It takes around an hour, sometimes more, sometimes less. Mine was about 40 minutes but effectively it takes as long as it takes for them to get the info they want from you.
Beforehand you'll be given a sheet of paper with...
