They are 'breaking up' an Inter City set, and places coaches in other sets to make them all longer, thus loss of 1 set

In the anglia area, the TOC does (or did do) ban all alchohol on match days on certain trains leading up to the event and after the event, by a considerable number of hours.

There is nothing wrong with green signals at level crossings, AHB's have them all the time, in the case of a controlled crossing there is no way the driver will see a green, there is simple interlocking gate lever/signal, but AFTER the train has passed the signal, different story, once the lever...

With GB going from strength to strength it's an odd move, but those in charge of TOC's and FOC's don't always do the obvious! I don't think First is the flavour of the month passenger wise, at least on performance, maybe they see the cash in GB and that they can divert this to passenger...
