HR did eventually email me back to say the letter will arrive by the end of the week and that the medical should be week commencing 1st October. Talk about last minute!! If I fail my medical then I'm up sh*t creek now I have handed in my notice!

You mentioned you are doing an OU course? I work for the OU! (or rather, I did). I'm quite used to visiting Milton Keynes as our HQ is there.

By the way, I'm guessing you are a cat person from your username Remind me to show you a picture of my moggy (Rupert) once we start training

I am actually quite paranoid about the medical now. Can imagine failing it after everything else we have been through to get this far. People say it's fairly routine but i'm worried I have some undiagnosed heart condition or diabetes that will suddenly show up! So paranoid I know....

Have you heard anything else yet?

Excellent- thats really helpful thanks! Was kind of getting anxious about the not having had a medical date or letter. I did email them on Monday to find out when it would all be done but they still haven't replied.

Did you have any problems with your existing employer re 3 week notice period? I'm supposed to give them 4 weeks notice but they were ok with it fortunately.

I'm also hoping they will give us some more details about the training - some kind of rough schedule or something.

Anyway, it's pretty exciting huh!? Hope your house hunting goes well and looking forward to getting started

I only confirmed yesterday with Northern I was definitely able to start on the 8th - so i've not had my paperwork yet. I gave Liz some dates but not heard anything yet.

Yep exactly the same message. I too was unnerved the the term "on hold" but as you say probably standard! Not received any FB message - maybe the wrong George Silvester!
