Surely it's time to have a real fall back position of running services at safety speeds and having control via mobile phones to train crew?
Cable theft looking likely. Detection on all points in the Holloway area lost, along with all tract circuits showing occupied. (that's what they reckon on WNXX)
It was rodent damage NOT cable theft.Cable Theft is getting ridiculous but there isn't much you can really do about it I suppose.

Well run pilotman then. Better than nothing at all.
trains without lights through areas on fire and with loss of infrastructure.
Face it, the old Silverlink service though North London is never coming back.
There would'nt be any knitting to come down or fancy trick, colour-light signalling problems.![]()
Ah but you would have fires everywhere,![]()
That never seemed to be a problem in the old days. Probably because the gangers would be out & sort it out before anything got out of hand, rather than having to wait for a Rapid Response Squad to come down the motorway from 40 miles away.
I suspect it had rather more to do with the fact that the lineside areas were kept much much clearer back in steam days. You go and compare photos taken in the 50s with those taken of the same spot today and they're barely recognisable with so much vegetation growing on embankments and such like.
