Found out I failed depot driver role. They said they’ll hold my details for the next 6 months in case there’s further assessments. Gutted.

Unlucky mate. What stage did you fail at? Same for me at the online assessment stage for mainline driver role

That arctic shores bit. Such a rubbish way of assessing people. Got 3/4, 4/4 and 4/4 so it wasn’t an awful score either.

I got 4/4 in all and still didn’t get through. Probably among the lowest scorers in that category.

I also got 4/4 on all of them. Would like to see a more comprehensive breakdown of how they score them to try and understand where o went wrong and how to improve my chances for next time.

I got turned down with a decent arctic shores score AND a valid opc pass already in place, so lord knows what they are looking for, it's basically a lottery

Did you get any feedback as to why you were turned down, I know a few people who applied for this and just got told ‘No.’ with no feedback or reason why, you’d think they’d at least give a reason, even if it’s just ‘too many applicants’I got turned down with a decent arctic shores score AND a valid opc pass already in place, so lord knows what they are looking for, it's basically a lottery

Does anyone know if they just base it off the arctic shores assessment or even consider the CV?
at this point I’m just gonna have a shot at the platform assistant role and work my way up from there, I’d assume it’d be a lot easier to land the train driver roles if you already work for the company than being one of thousands of external applicants but I’m not sure maybe someone already in the industry could confirm this
That’s exactly what I did. Years of applying and getting nowhere, so went in as a guard and was driving 15 months later.

Curious- those of you who got 4/4 for all the arctic shores assessments did you crack the safe?
I got 4/4 and I didn't crack the safe but I did spend about 45 minutes on it. From what I've seen online it seems to be a test of perseverance but also time management. They want you to give it a proper go without wasting hours on it once you realize it's virtually impossible.

I got 4/4 and also didn’t crack the safe, multiple times I got to the last set and managed to do 3 of the numbers in the last set but that was it. I did it for around 20 ish minutes before stopping.
