Has Dewsbury had chargers fitted?
Good point actually, while Dewsbury doesn't have a bus depot as far as I know, that raises the question, where will Transdev operate it from? Unless they will make a new depot in Dewsbury, they surely can't run it from Keighley or Harrogate?

It has been announced that Transdev have won one of the franchises for services in the Dewsbury area. Does this mean Transdev will start operations of Wrightbus Electroliners (both GB Kites and Streetdecks presumably) when the contract starts?
What makes you think they will be running EVs?

Wouldn't Waterloo be nearer? :)

Weaver Network did order 193 Wrightbus Electroliners but I dont know what other buses they would run. And also I always forget about Team Pennine being Transdev, so yeah they would use Waterloo most likely
Dewsbury does have bus depot. It is in Saville Town and less than a mile from the Bus station
Do you know who currently operates from there?

On Google Street View its clearly Arriva
Oh right ok I'm not that familiar with who runs from where in West Yorkshire

Why think that - non of the small work has been awarded yet so why would First need additional accommodation?
Weaver Network seems to be doing a similar approach to Liverpool, where a certain area is given to one operator, unlike the area being under different franchises like Manchester. The Liverpool franchises for St Helens and Birkenhead use depots in those areas, so First will use their Huddersfield depot for work there and Transdev *might* take over Arriva Dewsbury?

The depots are pre-ordained (purchased by WYCA) so Huddersfield and Dewsbury will run from the existing First and Arriva depots.

Weaver Network is going to have 9 "main" depots, which it is buying from the existing main operators – Leeds West (Bramley), Leeds East (Hunslet), Wakefield, Five Towns (Castleford), Kirklees (Huddersfield), Heavy Woollen (Dewsbury), Bradford, Keighley and Calderdale (Halifax), with an operator taking on the main depot and the core network for each of those 9 areas. There will then be a selection of small contracts for minor routes and those around the periphery of the region that will be let individually, potentially to local independent operators to run under the Weaver banner from their existing depots.

The cost of this alone makes my eyes water!

Somewhere now, somewhere else soon!

That's interesting, as the Woollen operations are currently split across two sites, I'd be surprised if the existing operations of Heckmondwike depot could fit into Dewsbury! Though a while since I've been so perhaps this "carving up" of areas has already happened.

There will be smaller lots as part of franchising for services in the region. These can be school contracts or smaller contracts intended to be more accessible for a Small/Medium Enterprise to bid for and potentially win. These smaller lots won't come with a depot.

Whoever wins a smaller lot for the Woollen area can submit a planning application for a new depot or can bid to purchase an existing depot such as Heckmondwike. Of course, if Arriva win then they would just use Heckmondwike as they already own it.

The same can be said for the Huddersfield depot. First has won the bid to operate the Huddersfield depot they currently use. However, Transdev uses Waterloo depot for Team Pennine (along with Elland). There will also be smaller lots in the Huddersfield area for school contracts and other routes, whoever wins can submit a bid for Waterloo depot or submit a planning application for a new depot. If Transdev were to win a smaller lot near Huddersfield, they could continue to use Waterloo.

At present, there isn't a publicly available list of which routes will be included in which lots. There will be likely be a great deal of shifting routes between Heckmondwike and Dewsbury depending on operational conditions and bidding for the smaller lots.

That announcement has been about a while having existed on the now razor blade etc Volvo 7900Es. Really ought to be some way of known diversions being broadcast before they actually occur.
Any near miss concerning a former Transdev now razor blade Volvo 7900E could be described as a close shave

Heckmondwike is due to be purchased by the authority. The only depots owned by the authority are A lots. Transdev will likely be running two depots.

I didn't bother replying as @TheGrandWazoo had answered it perfectly. Its quite common IME to refer to vehicles of what ever form that are bring scrapped as becoming razor blades. On the topic of the 7900Es 806 was purchased by DM Motor Services but not aware of it being seen anywhere.

Remember the Volvo 7900Es that Harrogate had as early EVs? They've now been consigned to the scrap yard and turned into either baked bean cans or razor blades?

I didn't like them as a passenger, and turns out, Transdev found them wanting as a reliable bus!
Ahh gotcha. I've always used the baked bean can term, never heard of razor blades.. I was thinking it was some sort of nickname they'd picked up during their existence!

Got a play store update for the app today that changed the icon to black and white and added "- Old" to the name. They have a new app which they link on their website but haven't mentioned in the old one or on any of their social media profiles. Seems an odd way to handle it given you'd never know they have a new one ready to use already if you don't go looking.

Transdev Go Bus is the new one. If you have the existing it needs deleting.

Journey planner I noticed is wrong with some its fares - asking for times from my Harrogate Route 3 stop to Leeds it gave one walking to the Ripon Road and catching a 36 with fares from £3, however if catching a 3 it gives fares from £7.50 when it should be from £4 - the price of a Switch Single

Seems to be a Passenger issue. I've noticed on their other apps that a single for one bus is given as £10, despite it being £3.

Do Cardiff Bus use the same software? A journey I looked up a couple of weeks ago only gave the day ticket price and not the single fare. A return trip would be capped at that day ticket price but some people do make single journeys.

Yes, and that's what East Yorkshire (who also use Passenger) would show me.

I had a notification from the new app this morning to say that the new app is available to download on the app store!
