the fact that it 401 is with 403 on the railtour at the weekend. I would say no 025
Well if the turbo is knacked in 25 I say she's out until it's fixed or swapped out, dunno if one of a 4 is the same, if it is 403 can be stood down as planned

The turbos are the same in all 37s(except a 37/9) but it is still an involved job to change it. Also depending on the level of failure, then you will want to be checking other bits of the engine and changing the oil.

Listed here with 37025 pulling a railtour from Carlisle to Falkirk Grahamston. Is she back in the running, or will it be pulled by 403? Certainly going along to see it in any case!

Edit: I just checked their facebook and it's 403. Sorry for not doing much more than a cursory Google. If a moderator sees this feel free to delete

025 is back in service but has only just completed some insurance runs, so they subbed 403 in just to be sure.

From what I have seen on FB 025 needs a mainline test run before it gets signed off

Is there any information on 37025's current status? I don't think she's had a mainline test yet (but I might be wrong). She's slated to be pulling the Discovery Double on the 26th which I have seats on. Really desperate to see her running. I've been following SRPS socials and not heard a whisper. Does anyone have the inside scoop?

Will probably try chasing her from Bo'ness onwards time dependent. Not sure what sort of time she'll be leaving Bo'ness station - probably around 10 o'clock if she's leaving the exchange sidings at quarter past 11. Will definitely be seeing her somewhere though. Might be some cool photo ops around Burntisland/Dunfermline City

025 with D400 for company/load/insurance on its way to Manuel from what I have seen on FB

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

Also it might continue on to Townhill(the second train today to do it) for a run round if they want 025 to be leading the entire time. Scrap that it's now going all the way round

Caught it going through Falkirk Grahamston with some lovely tractor thrash, running nearly 30 minutes early by the time it got home. Beautiful sight, 025 returns at last!

Interesting that nobody commented here about the Yorvik Discovery or Discovery Double railtours. I caught the Discovery Double and had a really fantastic time, admittedly running rather late and skipping our scheduled stop at Stirling. Great sound and clag from 025, although I did notice some quite pronounced hunting when she was sat at Dundee prior to getting on board. Anyone know if she received an engine refurb whilst out of action, or was it purely bogie and cosmetic?

It wasn't purely cosmetic, the main thing that they were doing was the bogies & wheelsets. Additionally they did some work to the traction motors.
I think on the engine front they did a bit of work but not a full refurb.

It’s sounded slightly different
For a while, it has a slightly usual turbo sound when running.

I'm sorta hearing that the tour to Inverness in September might be 2 x 37s instead of the 45

I assume that 025 will be one of the 37s? What would be the other? Not sure what 37s the SRPS/LSL/37 Group have access to? Obviously not 403 as it’s out of action atm

LSL have 4 of there own,
2 of them ETH, 401 & 409
1 of which worked the Fort William
Tour in May with 403,
& 3 if you include cross us 402.
Plus the two 37/5s, 521 & 667.

401 & 402 are due to work
A LSL / Intercity railtour
On September 16th.

The peak to Inverness being
The 19th September
