Class 175s to GWR

Usually, and I don't mean this sarcastically, if it's dripping water inside a 175 it means it's raining outside very heavily.

Nope, no sarcasm here!

Looks like they locked a coach out of use because of it. Because of that, was better to swap if out and allow Laira that extra bit of time to look into the fault and fix it since we had a bit of wiggle room in our fleet that day

As @craigybagel has mentioned water ingress has been problematic especially during heavy rain.

If the water leak was in a central area of the saloon the most common fault is that the saloon HVAC unit " duck bills " are probably blocked with debris not allowing the build up of condensation to drain out into the drainage channels and then to down the side of the train, when this happens it overflows the channel or channels and leaks into the saloon.

Looks like 175009 which was supposed to work 2C32 has been cancelled between Exeter and Plymouth. 150246 taking over from there.

009 has gone down from Exeter to Laira as 5C32 (RTT quoting a problem with the doors).

Hopefully it'll still be in service by the time I next venture down to the south-west in late July.

009 has gone down from Exeter to Laira as 5C32 (RTT quoting a problem with the doors).

Aaaaww I was hoping that the door problems were behind them now after the numerous reports at the beginning.

I wasn't aware GWR some had early allocations, I'd only ever seen TfW's before.

Clearly couldn't have been too major as it's due back out today as of right now, possibly an issue the driver wasn't aware of which is another thing that is probably causing problems; the crew aren't used to the issues that come up and how to easily fix them!

As an aside, 175101 and 007 head up to Exeter 3E05 tomorrow then 007 heads down to be the first unit of the Class to Paignton, assuming everything goes well.

I shall watch it go through Dawlish on coastcams then head for Paignton when it leaves Exeter.

There are optimum service operating today except the Busy train from Barnstaple is 158951 and Newquay's 175 not allocated at this time.
It's listed as 175101-175007 yet 175007 leaves first at 0650 then 175101 for Penzance at 0655.

The 3 car is leading so that is logical.

Yes it’s usually a NR 153 Video Inspection Unit.

Thanks and new faults that have not been mentioned on here before but having said that 114s hazard light on could be door related especially if only one car. There are 7 or 8 reasons that the hazard light can be illuminated on a 175.

Door faults can be many and varied, are they the same type of faults reoccurring or different each time I wonder ?

They can't have a second 175 on the Newquay, something to do with some crews not signing them (yet)

Plymouth has two different sets of Drivers.
The more established (ex-Intercity HST Drivers) have not yet been released to learn 175’s, so one Newquay diagram has to remain as a 150 until further notice.
