There were some long-wheelbase versions made as limousines, funeral cars etc. That would explain the colour.

The Furious Driving YouTube channel has a video of one:

Apparently it's the only one left in the UK so if it was this one you saw, it's a lucky spot - it's the right age.

Fancy that! I’m fairly sure that is indeed the one. I was in Letchworth when I saw it (where that video was filmed).

Then a 1969 DB6 Mk II. In absolutely mint condition, but also (unfortunately) a colour that can only be described as “Metallic light turd”.
Curiously I've just read that post while waiting for my bus, having been passed a couple of minutes earlier by an immaculate 1966 (D suffix) DB6* in metallic light grey, and with a very 'sporty' exhaust note too.

*(I think a DB6, but I've forgotten the difference between DB5s and DB6s. It had the spoiler lip on the tail.)

Followed an original Fiat Panda (can't remember the registration plate) around the M1/A43 junction yesterday. It didn't half bounce around.

I always fancied having a Citroen BX GTi. My dad had one with a 1.7l diesel on an H plate (naturally aspirated). The car was somewhat underpowered, but I loved driving it nonetheless. It suffered a gearbox failure and apparently had one transplanted from a Peugeot 405; I don't know whether or not that was true, but the gearing was different and performance was much better afterwards.

Just saw a few minutes ago driving into the local Lidl carpark, the ultimate car:

slightly orangey brown Robin Reliant (R reg). The front has had some work done on it though as bits were in grey undercoat.
*Reliant Robin. <(
(sorry, but it really grinds my gears, that. Nobody ever seems to switch the order of ANY other car, but for some reason loads of people do it with Reliant Robins. Just Robins too- I've never heard anyone say "Scimitar Reliant").

Though you do hear people say "E-Type Jag" occasionally. For some reason that doesn't get under my skin in the same way!

I passed one of those on the M62 on Friday, a Panda 1000 in blue (but with some replacement panels in red). It was keeping up with traffic quite well but making a proper racket as it bounced down the motorway. I can't recall the reg off the top of my head, but IIRC it was quite a late example.

To add to that the Trotters had a Reliant Regal Supervan not a Robin.

And here is another Reliant Robin.

Very nice Robin Reliant there. Not sure why i got it wrong in my earlier post, my apologies,

Interestingly the Reliant is more or less the same colour as my spot today, a well worn R reg Corsa. Looked absolutely awful.

Yes i am a trouble maker.

Nice 80s Merc just went past, looked like a W126 or of that time period anyway, couldn't see the rear or the reg.

Back when cars were built to last and keep going. My dad had a red ZX but sadly a tractor saw to that early on.

Two foreign visitors in Somerset today - the red one is apparently a Renault, per the plaque on the front bumper.

I think they might have both fitted into one parking bay!

A few from my travels over the last few weeks.

A nice Morris Traveller taken from the top deck of a bus in North Devon on a forum trip.
IMG_8396.jpeg

Taken the same day near our house, a Ford Ka that’s been turned into a pot plant.
IMG_8403.jpeg

Mrs C grabbed this shot of a tidy 8 valve Golf GTi in Exeter a couple of weeks ago.
IMG_8582.jpeg

A mk4 Golf that seems to have been left to nature at Lee near Ilfracombe. Surely one of the nicest spots to be abandoned?
IMG_8632.jpeg

IMG_8633.jpeg

This old timer that I grabbed a shot of from up our scaffolding in Topsham the other day.
IMG_8577.jpeg

I couldn’t really go and investigate unfortunately. Does anyone know what it is?

....and the yellow one looks like a Heinkel.
Actually a BMW Isetta - while I was taking the picture, a parking warden came up and couldn't believe BMW had ever built anything so small

Merc 230E from 1983 in Mayfair today. Bit of moss on the windowsills but looks to be in active use!

I’ve driven a few of them!

We had a brand new 1987 'D' reg diesel which was kept aside clean and tidy for customer visits, clean and tidy meaning no Postmen were allowed to drive it, it was far superior to the petrol version

The Renault seems to be a Juvaquatre sedan from a quick Wikipedia/Google search, though given Renaults of this era aren't my area of expertise by any stretch of the imagination, I could very well be wrong.

And wasn't it a Regal Supervan that Mr. Bean had more than a few run-ins with?

I believe so.

No picture but saw an R reg Mini yesterday, mad to think the original MINI stayed in production so long.
