168219 only took 4 months, 168005 has been there for 5 months to date, so hopefully shouldn't be too far off. 108 has been there 2 months, so will still be a while before that one comes back.

165024 has gone to Doncaster for internal refurbishment and looking at the pictures looks like still formed of part 018 and 024 looking at the roofs.

The 165s are going there for underframe work not refurbishment. And 018/024 were reformed back before it went, 018 is back in service.

168329, whilst it has been back in action, requires fitting out with seats etc.
Was it providing spares for other /3s?

The thread for this has since been closed, so will post here even though its not 168 related, but long term stopped 165003 has finally been moved out of the depot at Aylesbury. It's in the branch siding now, but hopefully this means it might be making a return soon?

Had a quick look at a refurbed set at Moor Street while it was sat there on Sunday afternoon, very smart and much needed, good work, Chiltern.

The 168/0 traditionally have taken the longest to complete from my observations.

Seems like there will *finally* be some movement. There's a path in for the 28th for something to head off to Crewe. No return path yet but I assume one will appear. Hopefully it runs this time!

Out on Thursday 28

Maybe something coming back on Friday.

Id say positive.
A unit is away today, so there should be something to bring back tomorrow.
They can't really afford to loose more units to works, unless the unit gone today is defective for passenger service.

Saw a unit in the usual position Wednesday but anything could have left overnight.

Anyone got the unit number of the outbound? Hoping it’s not a 168/2 as I need to use one as part of our new simulator contract!

168109 was the only unrefurbished 168 at Banbury last night that doesn't happen to be out today, so I assume it's 168109.

Is this the unit which got to go to Crewe this morning, presumably for an overnight stay?

Would assume so, I'd assume they can refit the whole unit in one day if it's just the covers. Why do they need replacing so soon though?

That unit needs proper TLC which is probably outside the scope of refurbishment in my opnion
Why, its been converted back to a standard unit and is just awaiting the refitting of the rest of its seats. They have been using it for staff training runs for the last month.

Thanks for the updates! :) I did notice on the off chance that one of the seats on Wednesday had a similar set of marking to what has previously happened with the cloth seats (although thought may have just been something from that day) so wonder if a defect in material etc. . It was the first one done so makes sense that there is a snag.

just noticed today 168113 is sporting a lower fairing (not sure on the part name, the plastic part either side of coupling) on the front in the new colours. Are all parts now supplied/ repaired in the new colours?!
