Nothing was out on Sun 18th Jan.Are any 455s due out today?
Another bit of track ticked off for the year!A last minute allocation for this evening:

2O53 1800 London Waterloo to London Waterloo 1919

The actual allocation for the units shows them leaving Waterloo in the 5Y29 path and going through to Wimbledon Park.5Y29 is an ECS into Clapham Yard rather than Wimbledon.
Can confirm that, they are at East Putney now, just behind 701028The actual allocation for the units shows them leaving Waterloo in the 5Y29 path and going through to Wimbledon Park.
Amazing to see how much work the 455s are still doing right at the end. With the 701s not fully settled yet, they’re once again proving how reliable and flexible they’ve been over the years. A very fitting final chapter for such a solid suburban workhorse.5715 with 5716 did a round trip to Woking this morning. Currently at Clapham Yard allocated to work the ECS to Guildford for the 1558 to Waterloo via Bookham.

31 units have worked today. One pair only worked the morning peak but the rest were all out this evening, so two pairs are covering for other traction.

Tuesday 30th: 701012 had a door fault so 1230 Kingston rounder was cancelled. 5715+5716 have turned out from Wimbledon for the 1357 Kingston.
Very surprised to see them bring out two 455s just to do one single short passenger working before going back to the depot. That is a very odd diagram. They do an ECS from the depot to Surbiton then one single passenger working from Surbiton to Waterloo and then do an ECS from Waterloo back to the depot.* Class 455 Allocations - Tue 20th Jan *

It's an invaluable PIXC-buster service.
Not always as straightforward as it sounds of course, as IIRC a train could be loaded to something like 130% in relation to seats I believe, before PIXC was triggered, and the DfT (in my time) required the TOC to look at ways to lengthen trains/increase seating capacity. Something like that AFAIR, but will stand corrected.Passengers in excess of capacity..
Frankly they are far better at the metro role than class 450s that are currently subbing in on some metro diagrams (often with the consequence of extended dwell times and compounding delays).which says a lot about how well they still fit the metro role.
Does it actually matter where they go, I don’t think any reputable scrapper would let you in to ‘have a look’… The current scrapping location is Wards of Ilkeston. Units are moved via Litchurch Lane, Derby, it’s all been thoroughly discussed in the 455/458 withdrawal thread in the traction sub-forum.I’ve asked this on another group but i really want to go around and have a look at the 455s in the scrap yard when they get scrapped. Does anyone know where the rest will be scrapped in as Newport is a no for them
