According to journeycheck all Dorkings are currently cancelled as a result of

"Due to a signalling problem between Earlsfield and Wimbledon some lines towards Surbiton are blocked.
Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 16:00 05/01.
Engineers arecurrently on site and carrying out testing to investigate the fault. In order to allow Engineers to access to the railway, one of the lines towards Surbiton is blocked.Train services running through this area may be delayed, revised or cancelled at short notice.
As a result:
- London Waterloo to Shepperton services will be diverted between Clapham Junction and Fulwell, calling additionally at Richmond, Twickenham and Strawberry Hill.
- London Waterloo to Woking (stopping services) will be unable to serve the stations from London Waterloo to Surbiton.
- London Waterloo to Guildford via Cobham & Stoke d'Abernon services will be unable to serve the stations from London Waterloo to Surbiton.
- London Waterloo to Guildford via Epsom services will be unable to serve the stations from London Waterloo to Raynes Park.
- London Waterloo to Dorking services will be cancelled.
- London Waterloo to Chessington South services will be unable to serve the stations from London Waterloo to Raynes Park.

Good idea! - keep checking each day (on RTT, for example) & something may turn up - I just searched some of the remaining unit numbers on RTT earlier today and found out about 5712 + 5717’s workings

0903 Waterloo departure to Guildford passed my house (Clapham Junction) at 0910, and it is a 455. Good to see the `red train` again.

Adding my thanks to Rich the Eagle for posting all this info. I was able to plan a devious route this evening which took in 2G57 end-to-end. A big nostalgia trip - I was a regular on the Cobham route about 45-50 years ago - all EPBs and some VEPs back in the day!
