Does anyone know if 5Y51 today was formed of the 455s that have been residents of Bournemouth TMD for a while? Thank you.

Unfortunately it was only 458408 returning after a 2 week holiday. As far as I know the 3 class 455 are still there.

I am still trying to find out the formation of Wednesday’s 5Q47 1138 Wimbledon to Bournemouth depot was. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you. It looks like 5B39 may have run in addition to 5Q47 on Wednesday?

Does anyone know if 5868 is going to make her way back down to London to be on the tour?
I would assume not as 5868 was in poor mechanical state , even if Porterbrook agreed to let it run for the tour I'm not sure it would be worthwhile going through the effort to fix it.

Wasn't 455 868 to be preserved as a static unit, network rail were said to have it as a training unit, but no progress?

I had thought they might have done some work to it up at Derby, but it makes sense why they wouldn't have as well, it's just not worthwhile, and plus there are still plenty of candidates for the tour at Wimbledon already.

And who knows, maybe a special livery is being applied to a different unit.

There should be a drag out of Wimbledon on Monday however I cannot confirm yet if there will be a drag on Wednesday.

The path is now on RTT for Mondays drag to Derby

Thank you. Interesting to note that 5734 was still in passenger service in the wee small hours of this morning so could be 35 hours between in service and leaving SWR.
I doubt they are stripping the 455s for many parts now.
I imagine just parts that are usable on other non class 455 EMUs ?.

So most of the 455. Most of the unit should be reusable on other BREL Multiple units of the same Era such as on 150's and 318's. I doubt the traction system has any use but parts like gangways , windows , doors , cab interiors and controls and other parts should be easy cannibalisation material.

Irrc a good chunk of the GWR 150's have gangway and gangway doors cannibalised from 317's so parts are definitely cross compatible between 150 , 455 and 318 bodyshells.

Could this list be updated to show 458401 as stored as it has not been in service for some time and is being used and a Christmas tree at Wimbledon.

Risk is someone has decided they have their fill of parts like that and cannot justify the cost of keeping anymore.

Thanks - a Christmas tree is pretty useful at this time of year

8 out today. 3 all day diagrams, 1 AM&PM peak.
The 0833 Weybridge Waterloo was 458530
Unfortunately, despite those "spare" units it looks like 5870 is out on its own this evening, starting with 2F91, which also means a guaranteed short formed diagram tomorrow as that unit isn't ending at a depot...

If it's thrash and motor sound you want, you'd better hope that 5737 will be out, that one's pretty noisy and to my knowledge, none of the other remaining ones can match it's volume

According to RTT it stables at Guildford carriage sidings overnight so should be out tomorrow; at least in the morning

5737 0820 Guildford Waterloo. The empty to Wimbledon. Often returns 1702 Waterloo Guildford but no guarantees. It has of late been a favourite to remove a unit for scrap.
I found the best thrash is the 507 car end bogie of the thrash chariot.

For those out and about, the below may help.
If you use LRR app you can get the unit diagram, or trace forward on real time trains
Out today from Waterloo. As on LRR.

5870 0906 to Hampton Court (solo)
5873 5710 0903 to Guildford
5719 5732 0853 to Guilford

5721 5737 0820 Guiildford Waterloo and to shed.

458530 (0950 to Reading and return, back out for 1537 Waterloo circular)
458533 0833 Weybridge Waterloo and to shed
458535 0845 Waterloo circular and to shed.
