And hoping HD06 moves somewhere!Fingers crossed. Hopefully all the infrastructure issues of the last couple of days dont rear their head again.
Afternoon
Will 1W96 tonight be loco or DVT leading from Chester to Holyhead please ?
Thank you
Dave
Bit of chopping and changing tomorrow with the following planned to happen for each set:
HD01+67020- ECS Crewe ETD to ATC
HD02+67014- Static testing at Worksop
HD03+67025 1W13 1V39 1W63
HD04+67016 Exam, loco to move from ETD to ATC swapping with 67029 off HD05 going the opposite direction.
HD05+67010 1V33 1W59 1V50
HD06+67017 1V91 1W57 1V46 1W65
HD07+67012 1V31 1W55 1V42 1W96
Is anyone aware how good of a condition 82204 is in? She looked quite scruffy the last time I saw her, more so than 82220 before the plans changed!82204 from Spare to HD08
It also looks like 197118 is on the Swansea service this morning.HD05 + 67010 failed on the depot for 5V33, with door issues. Will be a unit starting on that diagram, 197046 for 1V33.
Is there any danger of the 197 getting replaced during the day? Was intending to catch the 1627 from Manchester for a weekend away and a 2 car DMU doesn't sound that appealing on a no doubt very busy Friday afternoon.HD05 + 67010 failed on the depot for 5V33, with door issues. Ah right ok. Thank you for the information.Unlikely as the maintenance and exam schedules wouldn't match.
AFAIK the current plan is for them all to 'step up' so 82220 from HD08 onto HD02, 82204 from Spare to HD08, 82229 once repaired will be the spare.

1V37 has been a wash-out all week so far as Mk4s are concerned. I’m hoping to take a trip on it next thursday - any chance of an on-board full Welsh breakfast by then…?
The Swansea morning service has been awful this week too - cancelled and restarted at Cardiff with a 197 on Monday, turned back at Wilmslow on another 2 days and today a 197 so it only ran to Manchester as a MK4 1 day out of 5.
As long as there is ticket acceptance in place (TfW are actually quite good at getting acceptance with Northern and Avanti for Wilmslow turn arounds)Regards to Wilmslow, Network Rail have become a lot stricter on this during the Stockport blockade and dictated that running out of booked order on the Styal diversion will be made to turn around at Wilmslow to save causing a back log and congestion, the route is so tightly packed with trains, that’s why there has been a massive influx turn arounds there over the past week, even when they seemingly could’ve got to Manchester in time. The only saving grace is that the xx25 CrossCountry from Manchester is routed via Wilmslow meaning it’s at least easier to pick up the train for those waiting, but still not ideal!

Agreed Topoligacal. It's clear reliability and availability getting no better so not a bad idea more 197s and bin Mk4sAs long as there is ticket acceptance in place (TfW are actually quite good at getting acceptance with Northern and Avanti for Wilmslow turn arounds)
However, it is clear that the Mk4s are not getting any better. There are only 4 diagrams booked now instead of the 5 diagrams that are cut at Cardiff to accommodate Mk4s. Still there are problems.
I wish there was money for more 197s to put the whole sorry story to bed and remove two terminators from Cardiff each hour.
