Surely something has got to move out of Wolverton to Laira.

I am only guessing but I suppose the 175s don't hold much, if any, fuel in the tanks while in storage at Ely or in the shed at Wolverton for safety reasons.

Think at this point we shall await the first unit to come out of Wolverton with the modifications made, only a matter of time I'd hope!

There is a Wolverton drag tomorrow, however that loco move from Derby hasn't departed yet, so unless it's just extremely late, I'm willing to bet this will be cancelled:

They're flammable enough without adding fuel to them!:D

Similar story to the first week of training, a 175 is expected to do some runs between Plymouth and Newton Abbot from Monday to Friday next week. ROG operating.

Are 175s fitted with Selective Door Opening (SDO), or can one door be opened on local control?

This has particular importance at Newton St. Cyres station where most of the platform is very low, and the Guard opens one door only positioned next to the Harrington Hump raised section.

Although most trains to Okehampton & Barnstaple don't call here, the station enjoys improving services with the excellent Beer Engine brewpub adjacent being a particular draw.
Between 15 & 22 trains in total a day now stop here on request, depending on the day of the week.

Raising the whole platform length instead of SDO would probably be unaffordable.

They only had TUDI (Trailing Unit Door Isolation), but apparently SDO is being retrofitted at Wolverton if I remember correctly.

Probably will be a similar story for me, I do want to catch one moving under it's own power again whilst it's still in TfW's white and red like I'm used to, since going all the way from South Wales to Plymouth is both costly and far so I want to use my time and money wisely!

If there are no buildings to adjust floor height, and solid underneath, not as expensive as might think to raise the surface.

These days there are interlocking aerated blocks available, even easy than laying a row of bricks to install. Then just need precast surface blocks which can be moved into place with small tracked hoist or crane of a road railer. Then it is just backfill and surfacing.

Clearly if it's possible to build a hump, then it's possible to use same access for whole length of platform
