A wave of dodgy characters descending on Derby offering to buy and sell tickets? Best they get some baggy Tesco jeans and smelly T shirts to blend in.Suspect it's just a threat trying to discourage touting.

That's what I've done - I'm only in Derby between 9am and 5pm Saturday but I'm heading to a hotel elsewhere for Saturday night, so I'm taking a full rucksack with me, 45x35x25cm ish. I think that's approx 40L. At under £5 it avoids any risk of entry and also me carrying around a bulky/heavy rucksack all day! There is always the Stasher app - so depending on how far your Premier Inn is, a small about of money to leave whatever items you want at the Premier Inn whilst you visit Litchurch Lane.
That’s fine if that’s the spirit of it, but hope that gets put across adequately to the gate staff - last thing we need is over-zealous ‘rentacop’ types trying to apply ambiguous rules to the letter! Thanks for sharing that.
I think their main point is "don't take the mick" and "don't bring your Duke of Edinburgh hiking/camping backpack", in that case.
Premier Inn will happily keep your bag before check in or after check out for free anyway. There is always the Stasher app - so depending on how far your Premier Inn is, a small about of money to leave whatever items you want at the Premier Inn whilst you visit Litchurch Lane.
I had a reply to my e-mail querying the bag size limits:

Seems a bit strange given the ongoing shortage of 222s to take one out of service for 3 days so people can look at it a few hundred yards from its daily operating ground.222005

Realtime Trains | 5Z33 0845 Carnforth Steamtown to Derby Litchurch Lane | 28/07/2025
Real-time train running information for 5Z33 0845 departure from Carnforth Steamtown to Derby Litchurch Lane on 28/07/2025. From Realtime Trains, an independent source of train running info for Great Britain.www.realtimetrains.co.uk

Not a Q headcode so highly doubtfulAlso a working from Worksop to Litchurch Lane 0Z57? Could be a Class 93, I guess.
A Class 57 dragging a Class 390 as a railtour will be there, which is unusual!Any idea of what will be entering on Thursday? Going to Derby station so hoping to see some action..
Would of thought by Thursday morning all exhibits will be on site.Any idea of what will be entering on Thursday? Going to Derby station so hoping to see some action..
