756005 and 6 on the Penarth circuit.
What is 006 running? I can only see the diagram that 005 is on on Realtimetrains.
756005 and 6 on the Penarth circuit.
TfW keen to publicise the 756 introduction. Drones and photos!
An unopened can even, what a giftGlad they made in the inside look reassuring familiar!
Another one from the branch
Yeah, plenty of room. I'd wanted to take a spin to Coryton to see how they fit up there but didn't have chance before starting work. Still, there's plenty of time to have goFits with a bit more room to spare than at Coryton!

I took this video of 756005 at Coryton this lunchtime arriving and departing. Pulled in very gingerly.
Looks like there's 5 756s booked to stable in Treherbert tonight for 5 starts in the morning so does seem highly likely to enter service in the morning.Last one to work yet, 756003 now showing as working 5T64 on RTT tonight to Treherbert Sidings, maybe meaning it will finally work something in the morning ??
Not surprised, you don't have a lot of room left until you hit the buffers, not helped by people video'ing you as you arriveI took this video of 756005 at Coryton this lunchtime arriving and departing. Pulled in very gingerly. Shows the pantagraph up and the level boarding working well.

Regardless, I can never see them being anywhere near full on this line.
Considering the length of the new 3 carriage 756 it amazes me that its total seating capacity (normal plus tip up seats) is 142.
The old 2 carriage class 150's has 144 seats in total, 2 seats more!
It's the trade-off for having level boarding and so no power equipment underneath the train, which is worth it. We're obviously yet to see the 398s in passenger service, but as someone's who has only ever known 150s / 153s and Pacers on the Cardiff local routes and Valley Lines, the FLIRTs are by far the best trains we've ever seen on these routes. They are a complete step change on anything that's been before and are undoubtedly TfW's best trains currently.Considering the length of the new 3 carriage 756 it amazes me that its total seating capacity (normal plus tip up seats) is 142.

Were the TfW 150s in a 2+3 seating arrangement?Considering the length of the new 3 carriage 756 it amazes me that its total seating capacity (normal plus tip up seats) is 142.

Generally 2+2, though I seem to remember they borrowed some from Northern which were 2+3Were the TfW 150s in a 2+3 seating arrangement?
If so, while the number of seats may be lower, the number of seats people will actually use is likely higher!
No the tfw and most the gwr 150s are 2 + 2 seating. Were the TfW 150s in a 2+3 seating arrangement?

Once power units reach the capacity of 1.21GW and a few minor tweaks to their top speed they might even travel back and start the driver training soonerNot only utterly lovely to travel in, the Flirts have the advantage that as new technology is developed, the power module carriage can be upgraded to bionic duckweed, mini nuclear reactor propulsion or huge solid state batteries in future....
To be fair its hardly a long journey and passes through Cardiff which has wc facilities.Yes, the 398's without toilets would suit the Coryton/Penarth/Caerphilly line down to a tee.
