67029 / 1Z99 seems to be taking a long time rescuing 1V42.

Traksy shows it near Cwmbran on the up line, presumably why up services are being held at Cardiff and Newport. It’s gone through Newport
RTT has 1W96 as not left Cardiff yet....
Was due to depart about an hour ago....

Makes sense. Transfer to buses presumably.1Z99 was held at Cwmbran whilst the evacuation took place, once people & emergency services were clear of the line only then could 1Z99 proceed to rescue the stricken set, empty.
Still here. Now out of beer.Yep, onboard. Out of water and no power in the kitchen. Aircon thankfully working but definitely struggling in the heat (and with the black coaches!).
Has evacuation started?Still here. Now out of beer.
aar0 is on 1V46, 1V42 has already been evacuated and is running 5V42 to Canton. 1V46 is now on it's way to Newport 255 minutes late.Has evacuation started?

Id be pretty gutted if I was them, they won't be getting their money back...I am indeed. Just at Newport, now running to Cardiff. Some fairly miserable people with tickets to the Stereophonics gig tonight… Staff have been fantastic and I’m sure they’re all knackered!
Oh dear. Bravo to the staff for doing their best despite the manic situation. Can't imagine it was any better for those on 1V42!I am indeed. Just at Newport, now running to Cardiff. Absolutely, nothing that could be done unfortunately.Id be pretty gutted if I was them, they won't be getting their money back...
Potentially yes. But at the same time theres been 197 failures which have blocked the line for several hours too.Hypothetically, would this have cleared quicker if it were an all 197 operation?
Yes all finished in Cardiff. As things stand HD05/06/07 are all there tonight too so something sees likely to swap.Did 3 sets end up at Canton last night please ?
67008 set 4 ex 1V37
67015 set 7 ex 1V46 over 4 hours late
67020 set 5 ex 1V42 - Failed
Or did one of them come back north ?
Thanks
Thought Canton only had capacity for 2 sets? Unless they've put one somewhere to fit in a third!Yes all finished in Cardiff. As things stand HD05/06/07 are all there tonight too so something sees likely to swap.
It does normally. Strangely HD07 is shown as at Crewe on a loco exam. Can't see how it's got there and shows in the system as at Cardiff. Strange.Thought Canton only had capacity for 2 sets? Unless they've put one somewhere to fit in a third!

67025 should head to Canton later to replace 67020 on HD05 ready for Monday, 01/03/05/06/07 should be out on Monday.
Any change to Sunday do we know?It does normally. Strangely HD07 is shown as at Crewe on a loco exam. Can't see how it's got there and shows in the system as at Cardiff. Strange.

Thanks for the honest answer.Potentially yes. But at the same time theres been 197 failures which have blocked the line for several hours too.
The performance though of the 67s during the warm weather is turning into a bit of a disaster, after a period of decent performance over the winter/spring, locos sitting down in traffic is getting a far far too common occurrence these past few weeks.
On my return from Italy on 30/06/2025 I had a +22 late start on 1D17, 14 03 Kings Cross -Leeds due to a door fault on a Mk 4 vehicle.I know the 91s are no longer as reliable as they once were, but do the Mk4 on the ECML have door problems so often
The rescue loco was on the scene reasonably quickly yesterday. Some of the delay in getting it moved was down to controllers being inundated by calls on faulty and failed 197s around the network.I know the 91s are no longer as reliable as they once were, but do the Mk4 on the ECML have door problems so often?
