That's what I thought... or apply to a different TOC...

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

Just had a phone call from OPC which tbh really got me thinking that what a lot of people are saying here about them or in reviews on Google etc are true... first thing is that like many others previously I have of course failed on one question out of six... and obviously they won't give you any more details on why is that exactly... and it's a question I really feel like I've given a strong example... another thing that got me thinking is that I'm 99% sure that like someone elses situation I've read about, when she was going through all the questions with me she read me a question that wasn't even a part of my MMI... and after all that she instantly started talking about me coming back for a retest etc...
I’m sorry to hear this mate, if what you are saying is true then this is highly frustrating to read. So you feel like she asked you 5/6 of the questions and threw in one you didn’t expect? Or did she ask you the 6 with an additional one? I’m guessing the former is true.

Could it be that maybe you didn’t apply the STAR method to your answer? Do you recall what question she asked that wasn’t even planned?

That's not at all what I've been trying to say... when she gave me the feedback over the phone today and she read every single question to me that I allegedly had on my MMI, there was one that was wrong, meaning I did not at all been asked that on my MMI... I've seen some reviews from people taking these assessments with OPC and there was one person that when asked them about the feedback been told that he/she failed on a question that wasn't even asked... when challenged them about it heard loads of different excuses and when wanting to complaint been told that there's no complaints procedure in place...and nearly every single topic I've found here about people failing these MMI is them being told they've failed on one question... not gonna be openly throwing any accusations here because it won't change anything for me for now but it does make you wonder a bit... well, hopefully it's just a minor stepback and I'll be able to reapply after 6 months and get the ball rolling again.

And the STAR method isn't something compulsory and if that would be the reason of me failing then I would most certainly fail on more then one question... plus I do think that the STAR method is something that you'll be using when asked these type of questions anyway without even thinking about it too much...

I emailed to say not attending stage 2 today, couldn't find a phone number to call them. If a anyone is doing stage 2 today, please tell them one wont be turning up, as they haven't replied to email I sent a few days ago.

Has anyone just received an invite to interview and successfully booked a time?

Tried to book a slot and when clicked to book a time, there are no interview slots available.

I sent an email to query it because I had tried to book a time only 10 mins after receiving an interview invite email.

The reply email stated

"All interview slots are booked. We will release further dates when we get them from the hiring team".

It must be a first come, first served booking basis. Need to be quick!!

I got the same reply, imagine as our applications are still open I guess its just a waiting game. Have to keep an eye on the emails although WMT do text as the email is sent.

not sure if other TOCs have the same basis of First come, first served

Hi everyone,

I applied for the Trainee Train Driver role in Crewe (SYS-11214) on the 17th of August and was wondering if anyone else who applied has heard anything back yet? I know these things can take time, but just wanted to check in with others to see if there have been any updates or timelines shared.

It was with Westmidlands by the way I forgot to put that in the title.

Hi. I did the same and applied on that date. I still haven’t heard either. I sent an email to HR last Tuesday asking for an update, but I haven't heard back from that either.

Anyone know how you get a copy of your day 1 assessment results? I pulled out of the process, but as I passed would be nice to know my scores.

I got in touch with them via a request a call on their website. I think, if you were there in Jan, you were there with me!..
I don't even know the company name for the website if you have it! I did the test at end of Aug, had stage 2 in Sept but pulled out then.

Has anybody heard back on the outcome of their DMI? I had mine but it was one of the last interviews. I'm just not sure how long it usually takes to hear back. I'm imagining it's just the usual case of waiting, but as this is a "talent pool" I thought the outcome would be quicker.

The practice material they provide is woefully inadequate, go in there thinking it’s that simple and you’ll be in for a shock. Still straight forward just follow the process.

Will make more sense on the day but don’t forget to fill in the circles and write inside the box if required

If there is no fault so you put a line through it or leave blank?

I passed my MMI & DMI over the last 2 weeks and got my email yesterday saying I was successful and the next available course is going to be the 3rd Feb next year. (Very quick process)

Is anybody else in here in the same boat as me? They asked me to confirm some details in the email about holidays next year etc so I’m presuming the next email will be the medical.

Hi all,

I've looked an awful lot for information online and here on the forums but struggle to see anything. I have also contacted the recruiter within WMR but I don't want to pester her.

I found out 3 weeks ago that I've passed the final interview. When they let me know I'd passed, they said a training course starts on 03/02/2025 but I assume now I won't be on this course as I still need a medical assessment and a DBS check.

Just wondering if anybody knows how long I should expect to wait until I have the medical?

Also would love to know what the starting salary is for a trainee driver? I wanted to ask in the final interview, but didn't want to give them the impression that I'm just chasing the money.

Thanks in advance!

I’ve had my offer and onboarding info sent across today. Start date will be February!
Well played mate. When did you find out you'd passed the interview?

Found out on the 4th Dec that I’d passed the interview, offer of employment on the 11th and medical done and passed today. Start date 3rd Feb.

That's moved fast for you! I found I passed on 26th November but still heard nothing, unlikely to start on 3rd Feb now

Yeah I thought it’d been quite a quick process!
I was told in my DMI there’s courses in Feb & March so maybe you’re pencilled in for the March course.
